About the Author

Nadia Higgins is the published author of more than 70 books for kids and young adults. In addition to weird inventions, she has written about explorers, national parks, outer space, pop stars, and zombies. Higgins lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with her husband and two daughters.
Since moving to Minneapolis in 2009, Erik Koskinen has amassed a following as a musician, songwriter, producer, and engineer. With experience stemming from years of traveling north to south and coast to coast, Koskinen taps those adventures and encounters in music sprouted from a blend of American folk, country, rock-n-roll, and blues.

There is use of onomatopoeia throughout the story: flutter–glide, pitter–patter, plunkety–plunk, crash–bang, rat–a–tat. Types of Precipitation is a welcome and fun way for a young audience to learn about how rain, snow, sleet, and hail are formed.
