This is the only recipe book I didn't skim through. I actually couldn't put it down. Not only does it give great recipes, it gives you the history, methods, and alternatives to the drinks and liquors. It's very easy to understand. I read from cover to cover.
This book has to be one of the best bar manuals out there. It provides a comprehensive guide to more drinks than most people would care to drink also while giving a description of just about every type of liquor you could find in a store. What I like the most about this book are the indexes. There is an index by name which is helpful for when I am looking for a sidecar, but there is also another index devoted to drinks by Liquor, which is incredibly helpful for when I am trying to find something to mix my gross liquors into to make them drinkable. The parts of the book with the histories are also really interesting and make for some good barroom conversation starters. Highly recommended for anyone who could stand to learn a little more about drink making.
Bought this for my husband (we just put in a new bar) and he absolutely loves ir!
