This is a good book; however, I had read one before that was quite similar to this one only it was better. And I have gotten to the point that I am very frustrated when I read a book only to discover at the end the book is the beginning of a series of books. I am beginning to hate that. I just want to read books that have a beginning, middle and end. Or if it has to be part of a series, then I would rather purchase the whole series at once and not read one and wait for the next one to come out. Or get the first one free and then have to pay quite a bit for the rest in the series. I only did that once. The first one was free and then I had to pay $3.99 each for the other three books. That was the only series I liked well enough to buy the others. I don't know if there is a sequel to this one out yet and I'm not sure if I would buy it if there was.

I seriously can't think of anything I didn't like about this book. Seriously. Ms. Brown weaves a tale with very compelling, believable characters in a very horrific, yet believable world.  The book is fast paced and even though there are some parts that are a bit predictable, I found that if those parts I predicted didn't happen, the story wouldn't have been nearly as good. I love Brooks, he reminds me a lot of Four in the Divergent series. Cora is a strong, capable leading lady. And her love for Coby, her younger brother makes me truly believe she'd do anything for him. And she does. There's definitely a sequel coming (right???). I can't wait for it.
