This was a very good mystery. A message of encouragement and hope well woven through the story. You don't have to worry about bad language (cussing) and suggestive scenes while enjoying a good mystery. Looking forward to more books by his author.

I have greatly enjoyed Lisa Harris’s Nikki Boyd Files series. Throughout the series Nikki and her colleagues in the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation solved missing persons cases, but they were never able to solve the abduction of Nikki’s sister, Sarah. In Vanishing Point we finally find out who was behind the abduction and whether or not Sarah, whose body had never been found, is alive or not. The story actually begins prior to Sarah’s going missing, with the third victim of the Angel Abductor. It ends over a decade later with the families, investigators, and Harris’s readers finally getting closure. New characters are introduced in Vanishing Point, among them is Special Agent Garrett Addison of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Jordan Lambert with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Garrett and Jordan had once been close while enrolled in the Police Academy, but their careers had led them in different directions. Now, working closely together on the Angel Abductor case, might the sparks that were once there be rekindled, or have they grown cold? The major theme in this book revolves around the classic question of why God allows bad things to happen. How does one’s faith survive when God doesn’t seem to be present? Parents reeling with the fact that their daughters will not be coming home, and investigators who see the dark side of humanity almost daily feel cause to cry out, “God, where are You?” This is a question many we have read of in the Bible have asked, and it is a question many of us have asked as well. Harris handles this question with care, not offering flip answers, but allowing her character, Jordan, to really articulate a thoughtful response. I thank NetGalley and the Baker Publishing Group for providing me with a copy of Vanishing Point in exchange for an honest review. I received no monetary compensation for providing this review.

Vanishing Point by award-winning author Lisa Harris, is a romantic suspense book that is hard to put down. It is a gritty tale of a serial murder case that remains an open case for a number of years. Following the characters through to the end was quite suspenseful, as the twists and turns to the case just kept on coming. Although the story line has several time lapses, the author fills in enough information that the reader doesn't wonder what has happened during the time gap. For readers who have read the previous three Nikki Boyd Files, Harris fills in the story of what has happened to Nikki and her sister, Sarah. For those who have not read the others, no worries, the book has enough backstory that it can be read as a stand alone book. There is definitely a lot of romantic tension between the two main characters, Garrett and Jordan and the reader keeps hoping they will finally resolve their issues and get their act together. The book with its edge-of-the-seat, breath-holding scenes gets the adrenaline flowing and yet there are poignant situations that touch the heart as well. Through all the action and drama, a thread of faith in a God who cares is woven into the story, reminding readers that God can be relied on for strength and wisdom in times of stress. I can't wait to read more of this author's books. I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. A review was not required and the opinions are my own.

The next book is Vanishing Point by Lisa Harris. With this book the author takes an interesting approach to the mystery that's driven the Nikki Boyd series. The book steps back in time to the underlying serial killer question and shows the original investigators wrestling with trying to find answers as young ladies are disappearing around the Nashville area.  Vanishing Point is filled with threads of romance, family challenges, and the race to save the young women before it's too late. While Nikki Boyd is not the primary character, she has more than a small role and allowed me to see how she became the woman she was. I really enjoyed this book which took a retrospective look at the crime that got Nikki Boyd into law enforcement. A great read and a book I would recommend to lovers of romantic suspense. However, if you want your books in sequential order, this one might jar you. I loved it!

Another exciting book in the Nikki Boyd Files series! This one overlaps the previous books with the backstory of Nikki's sister's abduction, the event that brought Nikki into the police force. The team of officers working the case returns, with the focus on special agents Garrett Addison and his friend, FBI agent Jordan Lambert. This author is skilled at pulling the reader into the police drama, with all the danger, uncertainty, and frustration in solving a complicated case like the long running serial abduction and murders. There was more of a personal side to this story it seemed, including family relationships, and friendships teetering on romance. The issues of grief and loss, anger, and questions of faith were woven into the story in a natural, genuine way. Pertinent questions applicable to everyday life--such as, where is God when evil takes place--added interesting discussions, and made the characters feel more real. Recommend to readers who enjoy suspenseful police dramas, with some romance and faith. 4.5 stars (An ebook was provided by NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions are my own.)

Deb’s Dozen: The Angel Abductor Terrorizes Nashville For Over a Decade-Who Is He? Teenage girls with long blonde hair go missing–and are found dead in shallow graves with a bullet wound in the middle of their foreheads. On the ground nearby–a Polaroid picture. Local police, the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are both stumped. The FBI is called for the assistance of a profiler, Special Agent Jordan Lambert. The TBI agent, Garrett Addison, gets hit with another such case his first week on the job–and the FBI agent is the woman he let get away some years before. Time passes, more girls are abducted and killed; some are found, some not. Throughout the long years of investigation, Garrett and Jordan walk in and out of each other’s lives. They both regret what they don’t have with each other, yet can see no future together. And still, the case goes on. Can the Angel Abductor be that good? Is he hiding in plain sight? Why do the girls go with him without an apparent struggle? What have they missed? Garrett and Jordan separately became very real to me. I wanted to shake them both and tell them to wake up to their attraction and get on with their lives together! But then the Angel Abductor would strike again, and I’d feel catching him the priority over personal feelings. You’ll get caught up in both lives-and the deaths of the poor girls. In Vanishing Point, Lisa Harris has written a serial killer novel that perplexes the police agencies. She’s also written an unusual romance. In addition, she ties in her previous Nikki Boyd Files novels by having Nikki become a police officer (Nikki’s sister Sarah was one of the undiscovered victims). You wonder what takes so long to solve the crimes, but then that’s what often happens in the real world. Vanishing Point is a standalone novel even with the loose tie to the Nikki Boyd books-almost as if Harris didn’t think this one would have enough credibility on its own. I give this one three and a half stars. Lisa Harris has written more than thirty books, is a Christy Award winner and has won the Best Inspirational Suspense Novel from the Romantic Times twice. She and her family have spent fourteen years living as missionaries in southern Africa. Find out more about her at LisaHarrisWrites.com. Revell Books gave me a copy of Vanishing Point, but I was in no way obligated to write a review.

Lisa Harris has another winner. Vanishing Point has twists and the plot is fast paced. While there is romance the suspense is outstanding. Missing girls (teenagers) are missing. TBI (Tennennesse Bureau of Investigation) agent and an FBI agent are part of a group of agents trying to find the girls. I don't want to ruin the plot except to say I loved this book and had a hard time putting it down. Lisa Harris always captures your attention right away, keeps the action and suspense all throughout the book. Her characters have flaws but they also have redeeming qualities and faith is shown through the book but in a way that only makes the characters stronger. I preordered this book and no one asked me to leave a review. I will always leave reviews on books that I think are outstanding. After I read my first book by Lisa Harris I added her to my "favorite author" list. I've never been disappointed in anything that I've read by this outstanding author. Not only do I recommend this book but I recommend anything by Lisa Harris.

Vanishing Point is an intriguing story! Lisa Harris writes with imagery and emotion, pulling readers into the drama and suspense that unfolds. Having enjoyed previous books in the series, I enjoyed learning more about Nikki Boyd in this story and was eager to discover what happened to her sister, Sarah. Fans of the Nikki Boyd Files are sure to enjoy Vanishing Point! I received a complimentary copy of this book. No review was required, and all thoughts expressed are my own.

Having just read through the "Nikki Boyd Files", I was eager to read this book to see, not only how everything ended up with the notorious "Angel Abductor" and his victims, but also how it all began in the first place! I was not disappointed! With a shocking twist-ending, and unexpected conclusions to some loose ends, I hardly knew which way to turn as the novel raced toward its closing! Definitely, if your a fan of criminal investigation or mystery/suspense, you should read this book! (Especially if you've read the "Nikki Boyd Files"! If you've read that trilogy, then you MUST read "Vanishing Point"!)

Murders in and around Nashville, TN, haunt both the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Teams from both agencies are brought together over a period of a decade to find the person who is kidnapping young women, taking Polaroid pictures, and burying them in shallow graves. But as the case is worked on over the years, relationships are growing. There are the human relationships that are often a part of these thrillers and the relationships the protagonists have with God. I found this second set of relationships particularly interesting as they struggled with the problem of evil in a God created and God controlled world. A prolonged discussion in chapter 32 of the book helped this reader resolve some of the issues related to this topic. Whether the reader is looking for the next romantic thriller, a Christian thriller, or a readable murder mystery designed for fans of Criminal Minds, Vanishing Point might provide a satisfying read. ______________ This review is based on a free electronic copy provided by the publisher for the purpose of creating this review. Vanishing Point by Lisa Harris is a mystery suspense with a little romance. It is spread throughout over a decade which is unusual for most books I read. It states that it is part of the Nikki Boyd series but she plays a secondary character that shows up a couple times in the story. It is based on the Angel Abductor investigation which is a subplot to the Nikki Boyd series. Her sister was killed by this serial killer. . The main characters are Garrett and Jordan who had met in the police academy. Her path led her to the FBI which resulted in the end of their relationship due to the distance and their jobs. Garrett tried working for his father in their law firm. As the book opens he has left and is working for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations. Jordan deals with a lot in the book regarding her family and her relationship with Garrett. Garrett struggles with family issues and the guilt of not solving the case as other girls are killed. I really liked the book but I couldn’t help but regret all the years they lost that they could have been together. It is an intriguing mystery.

Vanishing Point is book four in the Nikki Boyd Files series. I have thoroughly enjoyed this series and Vanishing Point yanked me into the story right from the first page. Six missing girls over the course of a decade have left Jordan Lambert and Garrett Addison struggling to find the killer. More than that, they’ve also had to face their own inadequacies in solving the case. I think one of the best parts of the book was simply that it took time. Years for the relationship to develop between Jordan and Garrett. It wasn’t rushed, and it was very realistic though at times, I hoped it would happen faster. The who-done-it was well veiled in this story and had me flipping pages long into the night. I would absolutely recommend any of Lisa Harris’ books and Vanishing Point is a great start.

What it's about: Meet Garrett Addison. A fresh criminal investigator who is beating his own path away from his father's expectations of becoming a shady lawyer. Garrett enjoys the tempo of this job and that he is doing what he loves. One of his first cases is of a girl who was murdered and buried in a shallow grave. All that was left behind was a Polaroid of her right before she was killed. He starts to work the case when another killing happens...then the next year, another killing. All linked together but leaving the detective clueless as to how to catch the murderer. With the complexity of the murders, FBI agent Jordan Lambert is called in to help with the case. The woman Garrett hoped to spend the rest of his life with when they were done with the police academy, but she chose to move on to become an FBI. As the years pass and the string of murders continues to grow from the so-called Angel Abductor, how will Garrett and Jordan close this case before yet another girl is murdered and will they ever come to terms with how they feel for each other? What I thought: If you read any, or all, of the Nikki Boyd Files series by Lisa Harris, you are going to want to drop everything you are doing and read this book. This answers all your questions as to the disappearance of Nikki's sister, Sarah. I liked how the book started before Nikki or her sister were even in the picture and how the case morphed over the years up until the present time of after Nikki got married. I really liked the pace of this book, how detailed the author was with each case and how she carried the story from beginning to the end, spanning over a decade. I also like how it wasn't heavy on the romance side, but it flowed along with the story and the history of the two main characters. There was a bit time period to cover and I think Lisa did a great job capturing all that happened during that time. Would you read it? You can read this as a stand-alone book, but to make it even more rich, I highly suggest reading the three Nikki Boyd Files books. This will give you a greater appreciation for this book and all that is happening. A little gruesome in places, but oh so good! Revell Publishers sent me this complimentary book to review for them. Opinions expressed are my own.

Vanishing Point is a story that I have been waiting for a long time for. Part of the Nikki Boyd series, we finally are given a detailed look at the crisis that drove Nikki to the law enforcement leaving behind her career as a school teacher. This story starts a few years before Nikki’s sister is kidnapped and goes through present day (probably about 12 years overall) and we are given a look at the cases of the previous girls who were taken by the so called Angel Abductor. Whew! This was a very suspenseful book and we get to know the local crime scene agent Garrett and FBI agent Jordan and their trials and frustrations as they race against time to find this very evil individual. This was a maddening book not only for the detectives and the families, but for the reader as well. Lisa Harris really made her bad guy quite reprehensible and one of the worst ones in all the books I have read so far. He did everything perfect and from the start you could imagine the fear these young girls probably experienced. The absolute anguish of the parents and the desperation of the law enforcement only added to the intense message of the book as to why such an evil person can even exist and do what he has been doing and where is God in all of this? We also are treated to the romance of Garrett and Jordan and the immense struggles they had effecting their relationship. At times I felt as hopeless as all of these characters and I am glad that we finally received a conclusion to the story of the kidnapping of Nikki’s sister, Sarah. I received a copy of this book for free. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.

What a great book. I never figured out who done it till the end. Lots of twist and turns made it a great adventure to follow to see who it was. Well written and great Characters. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. Wonderful story!

I loved this conclusion to the Nikki Boyd series! Lisa Harris took an interesting approach by going back in time to the beginning of the Angel Abductor cases so that readers can see how the whole thing plays out from the beginning to present day. Although readers get to see how Nikki Boyd gets involved in law enforcement after her sister is abducted, this story focuses on Garrett and Jordan who were originally assigned to the case. However, Nikki Boyd fans do get some exciting updates! In the midst of page-turning action, nail-biting suspense, and just the right amount of romance readers will finally have answers to the questions they've had all along about what really happened to Nikki's sister and who is the real Angel Abductor?? What I always appreciate about a Lisa Harris novel is she will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting to know what happens while also giving readers a chance to get to know the characters on a deeper level. In this story, readers will see characters deal with issues of forgiveness, family issues, redemption, etc. Even though this can be read as a stand alone, do yourself a favor and go back and read the first three in the series first. You won't regret it! I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a fantastic edition to the Nikki Boyd Files series. This takes us back in time to learn more about how Nikki’s sister died and why Nikki became a cop. This shows the policeman and the FBI agent that work on the serial killer case that includes Nikki’s sister. I love the romance and the suspense. There is a great balance of both. I did not want to put the book down. I received a copy of this book from the author and Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

If any of you have taken time to read my "about me" you'll see that I love to binge on crime shows like Bones and NCIS. So, it's no surprise that I really liked this book. Vanishing Point is the first book that I've read by Lisa Harris and it's actually book #4 in the series. Having said that, I wasn't lost in any way and I'm really eager to go back and read the first three books in the Nikki Boyd Files. One thing that I disliked about this book was the romance. Maybe I have been lucky in relationships but I don't understand why people who want to don't just get together. Why go back and forth? If you want to be with someone then be with them. Don't play games, just do it! Another thing? I felt like Garrett's meeting with his ex-girlfriend was filler and contributed nothing to the story. I think the author intended this to throw us off a suspect—a red herring. But, it just didn't work for me. Even if you have a red herring—it needs to contribute to the story in some tangible way. Otherwise, I really did enjoy the book. It was nice to have a good, clean suspense that wasn't gruesome. Sometimes I need my mystery dose but I feel a little burned out on autopsies and graphic scenes in my favorite shows. This book filled that need for a lighter suspense. I mean, sure, there was a serial killer but it wasn't overly graphic. This book is great for Christians who enjoy a clean suspense from time to time. A complimentary copy of this book was provided by Revell Reads. I was not required to write a positive review, and have not been compensated for this. All opinions are my own.

This was my first Lisa Harris novel and I was immediately drawn in! In this story, you follow Garrett Addison as he works for the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and seeks to solve a harrowing case. In trying to solve this case, the TBI calls in the FBI, and Addison is brought face to face with his biggest regret in life - not following after his girlfriend, Jordan Lambert. Throughout the story, Addison and Lambert struggle to not only solve this tragic tale of a serial killer and at the same time navigate what is going to happen in their relationship. I was completely drawn into the story, I loved the development of the characters and feeling like I could really identify with the emotions and questions that they asked on their journey. I can't wait to read the rest of this series! I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. This review is my own, honest opinion.

This book says "A Nikki Boyd" novel on the cover, but although it is about the case that drove her into law enforcement, Nikki herself is more of a "cameo" than a character in this tale. I was disappointed that she didn't have a bigger role, especially in the end. That said, I did enjoy main characters Jordan and Garrett. I just didn't feel that they were as well-defined as the characters in the previous novels. The case itself was very good, and there was suspense throughout, but I felt that the main characters needed a bit more. All in all, it is a good book, and I would definitely try another of Lisa Harris's novels, but the first three Nikki Boyd novels kept me enthralled from start to finish. This one fizzles at times, and the romance element is frustrating. I still give it four stars, though, because it is well-written, and the serial killer case is well-done. I received this book from the publisher for the purpose of writing a review, but all opinions are my own.

Review One of the most terrifying Christian romantic suspense books I've read, Lisa Harris's Vanishing Point left me shaky, thoughtful and wondering. Shaky because the subject matter was so dark at times. Thoughtful because of Jordan's burning question..."Where was God when these girls were abducted and terrified?" How do you answer that?! And wondering because of the trajectory of Jordan and Garrett's romance. One quote was especially meaningful to me. I think I might memorize it. Garrett says,"But I'm realizing sometimes you can't fix people or relationships. Sometimes all you can fix is yourself. You have to forgive them, love them, and then move on." I highly recommend this book if you like very intense Christian romantic suspense. Part of a series, this book stood alone well. I gratefully received a complimentary copy from the publisher, which in no way affected my opinions which are strictly my own.

A Great Book!!! I really liked this book. This is my first book to read by Lisa Harris, but it won’t be my last. The fact that I had not read the other three books in the series did not take away from this great story. Vanishing Point will hold you in suspense until the very end. It is most certainly a thriller that you will not want to put down. I liked the style of the book as different cases from past years were tied into the plot. I liked the quiet romance that ran through the story. I am very impressed with the way Lisa Harris expresses inspiration in a very fitting and real way throughout the book. I received a free copy of this book from the author but was under no obligation to review it. These thoughts are my own impression of the book.

An incredible police procedural novel! In my opinion this book is the finale of a true series. You need to read all of the previous books before this one. This is part of a romantic suspense series but most of this particular book felt more like a police procedural/crime than suspense. There is no feeling of danger until very late. I was just as invested in finding out the outcome as if the main characters were in danger though. I really enjoyed the development of both Garrett and Jordan. Their past is presented early but their relationship is explored throughout the book. I loved the fact that they discussed openly their questions about God. The plot of the case that is ongoing from before this book began until the very end was fantastic. There were so many twists and turns that I was kept guessing. The red herrings definitely added to that. I received a free copy of this book from the author. I have chosen to write this review to express my personal opinion. I've enjoyed watching this series unfold as it takes part from previous books, but has a story of its own as well. This book will keep you reading and have you read the previous books if you have not done so as well. Garrett does not feel that he has done all he can in the case he is working on and gets discouraged. He pairs with Jordan, an FBI agent and together they find themselves working together to find out what happens before there is another victim. I received a copy from the publisher, the review is my own.

I really enjoyed this book. It was thrilling, captivating, and filled with action. I was hooked from the first page and didn’t want to put it down. I finished the book in two sittings and was disappointed when it was over. This is the first book in this series that I have read and I thought it worked very well as a stand alone, though I do think fans of this series would definitely enjoy finding out what happened to Nikki’s sister. After finishing this book I looked up the descriptions of the previous books in this series and I think I will go back and read the rest now. Nikki doesn’t play a big part of this book so it would be interesting to see more of her and her story. This case was very interesting to me and I was unable to pinpoint who the killer was. This book was really well written and I enjoyed delving into this case. I look forward to the next book in this series! *I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher. A positive review was not required. All opinions are my own.*
