Private Investigator Lexi Graves couldn’t be happier. All she has left to do is wrap up a case between a fighting married couple before she can focus solely on adding the finishing touches to her own wedding. That case is a snap to solve but a woman suddenly enters the detective agency with a puzzling request and Lexi decides to take a last-minute look into the matter. After all, the only other critical decision she has to make right now is choosing her bridal gown.

Lexi’s client claims to have observed strange changes in her friend’s behavior but Lexi can’t find anything to suggest any serious problem, despite sharing the same hunch that something isn’t quite right. The deeper Lexi looks into it, the more concerned she gets, and the more likely it appears that her client’s friend could be in serious danger. Proving it, however, seems nearly impossible.

Just to complicate things a little further, two men from Lexi’s past approach her with a desperate plea for her help after a priceless item is stolen. Certified, top secret discretion is required, lest a national incident be inadvertently triggered.

Solving her cases before her wedding day arrives is a challenge by itself, of course, but if Lexi fails, the fallout could be far greater than she ever imagined.

This one is very hard for me because so much of the story was great but some of it was disappointing. Please Ms. Chaffer if you're going to write about the military do some research. The "tank" plot was so ridiculous and stupid. No cadets in enlisted basic training, it takes quite a few years to promote to Sgt. Major and how did Harris make Captain? Big timeline problems if Lexi met them in basic.

Loved the book and that there was a little bit more about Lexi and Solomon. The crime stories are fine but I do like their romance and Lexi’s family life best

Another great read. I really enjoyed the newest addition to the Lexi Graves series. Wedding planning, several different cases, the craziness Lexi seems to always find herself in, and information on a secretive time from Lexi's past. I would and have recommended this series to friends and family. This book will be no different. As always I can't wait for the next installment. *arc given in exchange for honest review*

Let me start by saying, "I didn't want it to end!" Thank goodness the series will continue. When the series started it was pretty much a cozy series but now that Lexi is a professional the cases are are often more high keyed but in each book she is drawn to a case that is not an official one or that is more personal. The hilarity continues even if it is usually a little more grown up as is Lexi. Her family and friends always bring fun and warmth to the story and often a little help in her investigations. The sort of formal investigation is sadly a fact of life for too many people. A woman fears that her friend is being emotionally and possibly physically abused by her fiance but everyone else thinks he is the perfect man for her friend. The unofficial case gives us a chance to meet some of Lexi's old army buddies when they manage to lose a high-tech tank, yes, a tank...a very expensive tank. It is not surprise to see Lexi leave most of their wedding plans up to Solomon and their wedding planner but we do get to participate in a few special moments. I got a message from a friend who said that she had been up until after 4 in the morning because she couldn't put it down; I understood completely because I couldn't put it down either.
