I love this reflective coloring book. The pictures range from simple to intricate. The scriptures, quotes, or song lyrics help guide my thoughts. I would definitely recommend this if you have trouble concentrating on having a quiet time with God. I am actually going to use it to start a small Bible study group.

Whatever is Lovely is truly a lovely coloring book for adults and children alike! It is so perfectly visual and behooving for times when you feel a tinge of wanderlust. I am wholly enamored with the remarkable artwork and cannot wait to color the pages and hang them on my wall! I love it! ___________________________________ WHAT I LIKED + There are over 90 ravishing beautiful pages to choose from and inspiring quotes from hymns, renowned writers, teachers, and Scripture that encourage the reader to reflect and ponder on the simplicity of life. Here are a few of my favorite illustrations. http://www.mysoulcalledlife.com/2016/03/09/book-review-whatever-is-lovely-an-adult-coloring-book-for-reflection-and-worship-by-waterbrook-press/ + The paper quality is thick enough to prevent ink from bleeding through – I’m presently using colored pencils and Fiskar gel pens. Too, the attention to detail is exceptional. Each pages offers a different experience – there are intricate patterns and designs that open up a world of creativity and entice the imagination. THINGS THAT MADE GO HMMM. . . - The one thing that would have made this book better was if the pages were easy to tear-off. As aforementioned, I want to hang some of these illustrations up on my wall! I think I am going to have to literally destroy the binding to do so - Also, because the cover art is so stunning, it would have been amazing if the book came in hardback, I would have loved to have placed it on my coffee table as a display. That aside, the book is flawless. AFTERTHOUGHTS This book has a special place on my desk, and I often find myself flipping through the awe-inspiring pages whenever I need a nudge of inspiration or a whimsical escape from hectic bustle of life.

I never grew out of coloring. Why? Because coloring is awesome. This new wave of adult coloring books is one of the greatest things ever! Being able to worship in a creative environment is yet another possibility I didn’t see coming, but again I’m glad it’s here! My first thought when I opened the box was that this was such a pretty book! The cover has a bit of shimmer and this may just be me, but that helps my creative spirit start flowing. The pages are large and thick, so they can handle any the coloring, so no need to fear you’re going to accidentally rip them out. The individual coloring pages are awesome! There’s variety in scripture and inspiring sayings, as well as the pictures. It is definitely one of my favorites. If you love coloring and Jesus, I promise you’ll love this – it’s relaxing and provides encouraging reminders. Oh!!!! And it has a Spotify playlist you can listen to while coloring. It’s awesome. Are you a fan of coloring? When I saw this beautiful coloring book being offered for review, I requested it. I was not disappointed, and wanted to see what the new craze hitting the country was all about, coloring for adults! First before I even perused the pages, the cover grabbed my attention, beautiful! Next the subject matter of the book, a coloring book for reflection and worship. There are 45 different pages to color your way to peace, and this book is designed to help your spiritual journey as you color and enjoy. I love that I get to color beautiful pages while enjoying the heart felt sentiments and verses that accompany each page. This book is a winner and a feel good reading. I received this book through Blogging for Books and was not required to give a positive review

Nutshell: Kids love to color, and I think adults (deep down) love it too! Adult coloring books are all the rage right now. Intricate detailed pictures that take fine motor skills to a new level. You will find all different types of adult coloring books out there, and this one takes coloring beyond just the colored pencils. In this book you will find not only beautiful art to color, but verses to meditate on. The idea behind it is that while you are creating beauty, you are thinking on the One who created beauty. You are meditating on the One who breathed life, who breathed scripture. You are listening to God. What better way to find quiet than to color and listen to Jesus? Pro's: I love this idea. I love that God's word is woven in to picture format to create beauty from beauty. The introduction was very helpful and including a spotify playlist to listen to while coloring? Genius! I took it one step further and found other scripture surrounding the verse and wrote it on the page to think on as well. Con's: I found I can only do one thing at a time! I couldn't listen to music and focus on the verse at the same time. My brain could only manage one or the other. Not a negative to the book at all, just my own personal findings. :) Recommendation: You don't have to be an artist to do this. No one is ever to old to color! My 11 year old daughter saw this and ended up with one for Christmas! What a great gift to give, or to give yourself! Would you like to buy this book? Click here to be directed to the site. WaterBrook Multnomah sent me this complimentary copy to review for them. Opinions (and coloring) are my own.

I have many adult coloring books and find them relaxing and a comfort to me to sit and draw in. Whatever Is Lovely was particularly nice in that it has inspiring quotes from the Bible along with the lovely drawings that I can color in. I use colored pencils for the main areas and then gel pens to highlight areas as well. I thought it was interesting how they had several different artists create each illustration, so I got to see a variety of styles. I found the quotes to be inspiring and I enjoyed pondering on them while coloring. It was relaxing and helped me to self-reflect. Each illustration is just on one side of the paper, so they can be torn out and framed, if you like. On the back of each picture, there is more information on the inspirational quote and links to where to go to learn more. I’m really enjoying this book and hope to see more like it in the future!

The allure of the Adult coloring book is in full effect. This beautiful and thoughtfully made coloring book has that "little extra" that others do not... FAITH! Inspired by Holy Scripture and religious poetry, this mind-freeing devotional makes your "quiet time" with the Lord to a whole new level. The cover is done in a vibrant metallic finish and the actual coloring pages are heavy and durable. You could even use markers on the pages without worrying about bleed through. Each illustration surrounds a faithful quote or scriptural citation. One could easily frame a completed price and give it as a gift or hang it in their own home as a beautiful piece of art. What is better still- most if not all the pages have the entire poem or Bible Verse from where the art was inspired from. The artist and or the author of the written work is listed as well. If you are inclined you may look up other works by that author or illustrator. The book has a lovely introduction explaining its premise and tells the reader how Whatever Is Lovely came to be. For those of you lucky enough to obtain the book- it comes with a special link to a playlist that the colorer can use to enhance their faith art experience. I would recommend this coloring book for reflection and worship to anyone looking to enhance their walk with God. **I received this book from the publisher in return for my honest review in accordance with FTC regulations.
