The story is almost an exact replica of Where is Baby's Birthday Cake. The baby is searching for his Christmas present (instead of the cake), and looks behind various household objects but finds other Christmas objects (instead of other birthday objects). On the last page, the baby discovers the desire of his pursuits. The bright colors are appealing, my girls like the baby character, and the Christmas ornaments and cookies and other assorted discoveries are lovely. However, if I had known that it was the same book as one we already owned, with a minor face lift, I would have skipped it. If we buy more Katz books in the future, I will search for ones that have a unique format, rather than this hide-and-seek style.
