Who Was Amelia Earhart? by Kate Boehm Jerome is a wonderful book about this great lady in a time when women were just beginning to stand on their own two feet, she is flying! This is a wonderful story of a strong willed and level headed girl and her goal to be more than someone who sits at home and makes babies. She was a doer. She had a very interesting life and this book tells all kinds of personal details history books would leave out. Great book for any age.

The disappearance was on July 3, 1937. That was 5 months and 18 days before Walt's first full-length picture came out on December 21, 1937.

Amelia Earhart, is a winner. She NEVER gave up on a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g. To me, she was the pilot ever. - Brennan L. Quick

My favorite character is Amelia because she was funny and she was a dare-devil. She also liked to fly planes and she was nice.

This series of books is great for elementary school kids to learn about historic figures. We have this book and Harriet Tubman. My daughter used both books to help write biography reports for school.
