Overview

Things get pretty hare-y when rabbit rescue and rehab expert Jules Bridge and her brilliant bunny go undercover to catch a murderer hiding in plain sight . . .

When Juliette “Jules” Bridge began caring for rabbits on her beloved Fur Bridge Farm in rural New Hampshire, she never imagined she'd be solving murders with one of them. Not only can her black-and-white rabbit, Bun, communicate with her telepathically, he happens to be a pretty sharp sleuth. Bun comes along as part of a petting pen for a birthday celebration—but for one of the guests, the fun is soon over. Evelyn Montgomery is found lying in the bushes with a knife in her chest, and the distraught hostess begs Jules to help . . .

To her surprise, so does Sheriff Jack Carver—who usually discourages Jules from getting involved in criminal investigations. But now she's drafted at the last minute to fill in for Evelyn as a judge at a rabbit show, and Jack wants her to go undercover. Yet as she and Bun expose the dark—albeit fluffy—underbelly of the world of rabbit competition, a killer is ready to act as judge, jury, and executioner . . .

Jules and Bun of Fur Bridge Farm bunny rescue are part of a birthday party celebration when a woman is discovered dead. The host of the party asks Jules to help figure out the killer to keep the police from blaming her. Evelyn Montgomery was a mean, hateful woman that enjoyed profiting off of other people. Jules has a hard time finding anyone that has anything good to say about the woman. Jules is asked to replace Evelyn as a judge at a rabbit show, Sheriff Carver wants her to keep her eyes and ears open while she is there to give him any new information that might help with the case. Jules and Bun find themselves in danger in their quest to find a killer. I am enjoying this unique series. Jules and Bun have an unusual relationship. Bun speaks to Jules through telepathy. He is opinionated and full of ideas. Together they make a great team of sleuths.

Amateur sleuths Jules and Bun, her telepathic rabbit, return in Who’s Dead, Doc? Running a rabbit rescue farm and a store offering yarn and classes seems like a lot of work on their own. But when Jules is asked to look into the murder of nasty Evelyn by the hostess of the birthday party where it occurred, she jumps in with both feet. Evelyn argued with both the hostess and Jules just a few minutes before being stabbed and shoved in the bushes. Good thing Jules has a telepathic rabbit sidekick to assist with the investigation. Bun has better hearing than a human detective but also a strong belief in his “superpowers”. I previously read the first book in the series, Left Fur Dead. I thought the lack of clues made the murderer impossible to guess. In Who’s Dead, Doc?, the murderer seems too obvious. It was so easy that I originally thought it was a red herring so I was disappointed when the obvious suspect was revealed as the killer at the end. However, I did enjoy the interplay between Bun and Jules. The setting at a rabbit competition was innovative too. Unfortunately, I read cozy mysteries for the mystery too so 3 stars. Thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for a copy in exchange for my honest review.

This is such a delightful series ! I loved Jules and Bun. This is the second in series of what I predict will be a successful long running cozy series. I have read the first in series and adore this series. Thank you to the publisher and to Net Galley for the opportunity. Jules is a favorite character of mine as she runs a rabbit rescue and rehabilitation farm, Fur Bridge Farm. She is devoted to the care of the rabbits and a advocate for their care and safety. She holds classes on rabbit car and even how to do spinning with their fur. I love how the author incorporates the care she takes with each rabbit for their well being. As a animal advocate I appreciate this series as the author brings attention to the advocacy for rabbits and how so many are abandon by their owners. Jules and her adorable side kick bunny "Bun" have a secret as she communicates with Bun telepathically/I love their relationship and conversations. Bun has helped Jules already solve one murder . Bun travels with Jules in a pouch and is known throughout town for their loving relationship. Its their special bond that Bun has with Jules that helps them both solve another crime. This communication lends much humor when Bun communicates with Jules when others are present. I love this fun side of this cozy series. In this next in series Jules is attending a Birthday Party with some of her rabbits. Part of her advocacy for rabbits is education and she enjoys taking them to events and teaching people about their care. When a murder occurs Bun and Jules are once again on the case. She is asked to step up and help as she is friends with the local detective. Bun is a great help as they piece together clues to solve a complicated case. I love this charming series that has a theme of animal advocacy and love for animals. Jules is a favorite charcter and savvy at solving crimes. The mystery was well crafted with twist and turns to keep me guessing. I look forward to the next in series.

competition, law-enforcement, amateur-sleuth, murder-investigation, theft Excellent cozy with lots learned about the care and other things about bunnies that is not pedantic. The star of the book is Bun, a delightful bunny owned by Jules who runs Fur Bridge Farm and can talk with her telepathically. It's a good plot with solid characters and even a bunny-napping! Besides the good read, there is lots about using spinning wheels to turn bunny (and other fur) into yarn for knitting, bunny care and rehab when owners tire of their pet, and, most surprising, bunny competition events including agility (think Westminster Dog Shows!). Loved this cozy with a twist! I requested and received a free ebook copy from Kensington Books via NetGalley. Thank you!
