This book was created to give children the opportunity to learn about Friesian horses. There are only approximately five thousand pure Friesians in the United States. The breed was so diluted at a certain time, that the pure breed was almost extinct. The Friesian Registry declared that no other breed could be crossed with a Friesian in order to revive the breed and keep it pure.
