Winding Roads

Can faith, so easily lost in our darkest moments, become the light that finally guides us home?

A devastating accident causes Kathleen Carter, a college student, to leave her school, family, and friends behind. She is homeless, broke, and alone. Will she accept the help of strangers given her fear and guilt? And what about the mysterious green truck and the boys in the red Mustang? Will she ever feel safe?

Walt Johnson, a graduate student and reporter for the city paper, finds himself attracted to the beautiful girl in seat 14B. A disastrous attempt to get acquainted with her leads him on a quest to find her and make amends. When Walt experiences a life-changing event, he forsakes his faith and abandons the search for Kathleen.

In the small West Virginia mining town of Farrowlee, Kathleen's parents, weighed down by personal grief and uncertainty about the town's future, find solace in prayer for their missing daughter and the survival of the community where they live.

With the Vietnam War and domestic riots as a backdrop, this dramatic story takes many unexpected turns as Kathleen and Walt navigate the winding roads of life's challenges. Readers will see God's merciful guidance and loving grace in this tale of restoration and reconciliation.
