Couldn't get into it. I was so disappointed as I had ordered it early in anticipation of a great read as I usually love her writing.

I have read all of Elin Hildebrand books, this one is not worth the money. Too wordy in story lines, seems like she had taken the end of the Quinn series into a new novel when really it should have been added to the last book. Only 154 nook pages but really could have been 50. Very disappointed. I may not risk purchasing another one of her novels. Best advice, wait to get it at a yard sale for 50 cents!

I'm glad this was a good year for the Quinns because I don't think I could have made it through the books where all the really bad stuff happened. These people need to be in a soap opera! There seemed to be a lot of place-name dropping for Nantucket and New York. I guess it helps set the scene, but I could have done without it. The story was still entertaining, and I liked the first person point of view better than I thought I would at the beginning.

Check out the full review at Kritters Ramblings The third in a winter series in which you most definitely need to start at book one, so don't proceed if you haven't read book one or two. This is the continuation of the Quinn family and what I love most about this series is in each book, a lot of the characters get their chance to tell their story where they narrate a few chapters in each book.

This is the final book in the Winter trilogy by Elin Hilderbrand. One thing I will say right up front is that you need to read this series in order. There are things that happen in one book that lead into the next. I love Christmas stories, I especially love "Christmas Magic" that I have come to expect from so many of them. This is not one of those books. It does not have that magical romance so many Christmas books have, it has something else. This series is a book about a family. A family that has issues, happiness, turmoil, betrayal, love and everything you would expect to happen in a normal family. They just happen to live on Nantucket and have some money. This book ties up the loose ends. It brings the family together through the "Storm of the Century" and solves some outstanding issues. Here is the big but, there is still so much to know about this family. Why does this series have to end? I love these characters, they are like friends and family to me. Wait, there is going to be another Winter story and I can't be more pleased. In October 2017, Winter Solstice will come out. I am not kidding when I say I enjoyed this series and book. It is a family drama, nothing major happens like and earthquake or losing everything in a fire, there are no mass murder sprees, or even a murder to investigate, yet it held me to attention. I wanted to see where this family was going and how it was all going to turn out. Pick up the series and give it a read, you won't be disappointed. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book via Netgalley.

Elin Hildebrand wrote Winter Storms this is the third and final novel in her Winter Street trilogy. Meet the Quinn family. Mother Margaret is a newscaster in New York City. Her daughter Ava lives in Nantucket and teaches grade school. Her son Kevin runs a new popular beach restaurant in Nantucket called Quinns. Her son Patrick just got out of jail for some insider trading in the stock market.Patrick's wife Jennifer struggles with drug addiction. Her son Bart is a POW in afghanistan. This is a drama filled novel. Ava is in a love triangle with Scott and Nathaniel. Ava gos on a tropical vacation to Anguilla with Margaret. Ava meets Potter and gos on a walk along the beach as well as sailing with him on the boat named Sunfish. Margaret is planning her wedding to Drake. This book has well developed characters and family ties. It is brilliant how Elin has each chapter devoted to a certain person in the family and their life events. She captures the beauty and cuisine of New York City and Nantucket during the holidays. A true page turner.

Very abrupt ending. I didn't get the wrap up at the end at all. I listened to it on audiobook and feel like I skipped a cd. Did I miss something?

I have been awaiting the release of this book for months now. I am very sad that the Winter Trilogy is over but very happy to know that Bart returned home safely and Ava finally got her love life together. This was by far the best of the three books only because it ended on a happy note. Excellent story! I will miss each and everyone of the characters in this trilogy.
