About the Author
From that day forward, she swore she'd never again write sappy poetry of unrequited love. Instead, a sucker for smooches and happily-ever-afters, Niecey Roy now writes contemporary romance inspired by her sailor's sexy brown eyes and charming sense of humor.

Six years ago Jaden left her home in the small town of River bend to escape her alcoholic Mom and the man that broke her heart, making a name for herself as a traveling blogger with a travel tv show. Only planning to come to town to check on her best friend, she doesn't expect to run into the man that still resides in her dreams. Cole has never forgotten how he felt about Jaden. A month before his divorce is final, he is shocked to see that Jaden, his sister's best friend, has returned to town. Cole is a determined man and letting Jaden go again is not in his plans. I am such a sucker for second chance romance and this one got my right in the heart! This is my first read by Niecey Roy. She has made a new fan with this one. I will be reading her other books and I cannot wait for the next in this series!
I was gifted this book for an honest review. This book pulled me in from the first page, It's a story about regrets, lost love, heart break and second changes, the one special person that got away. It's about life long friendship, Its about facing your past and growing from it. It's about forgiveness and learning when to walk away. The characters were well developed and believeable. MIa is Jaden's best friend, something is off with her. Jaden decides to return to the small town she has avoided for years, mainly to avoid her less than wonderful mother. The book gave me hope, it made me cry. It made me smile and laugh out loud. I hope there will be a book two, I need to know what life ha in store for Mia. Will Hillary & Troy ever figure out what they feel for each other. Yes Riverbend is a town I want to visit again and again. Five well earned stars for With Every Breath, Niecy Roy, you have a new fan.
I received a copy of With Every Breath from the author in exchange for an honest review. This story is terrific! It begins with a woman named Jaden who makes her way back to River Bend, Nebraska to be there for her best friend with her failing marriage. Her rental car breaks down on the outskirts of town and she is forced to ask for assistance upon arrival. Growing up in the town, she has a past with a lot of people that she would most certainly rather forget, but the one who comes to pick her up is none other than an old ex—Cole Brooks. After six years, he looks good and her heart goes racing with just the sight of him. She thought about him while traveling the world with her career and blog, but she thought that those feelings had subsequently vanished. She is in for some denial if she thinks that she can leave after a week without running into him again. Can her heart handle a second chance or can she find a way to keep him at a distance while still being able to console her friend? My favorite characters are Cole and Jaden, but I really enjoyed Hillary and Mia. I suspect that the next two books in the series will be about them finding their happily ever after. After one drunken night—Cole is faced with two options, he can step up and take responsibility after he gets someone pregnant or he can continue his romance with Jaden. At the time, he is young and doesn’t realize that his boy’s mother would be totally wrong for him in every way. As he lets Jaden slip through his fingers, it takes him five years to realize that they live in a world where marriages don’t always work out, but it doesn’t have to ruin his life. Six months before Jaden’s trip back to River Bend, Cole if ready to move on with his life and file for divorce. At the time, he didn’t know that he could possibly get a second chance to find the love that he could have once had. Jaden is fun, loving, sporadic and honest—except when it comes to Cole. Her friends are in dire need of a stress-free get together after one long year of no contact. Her journey is what really drew me in to this book. I found it interesting to read about her struggles with her family, friends and love because I can relate to some of them. In my opinion, this book deserves five stars. I thought that the overall story was thought out and planned very well. The content flowed well and there was a lot of originality. The story held a quick pace, which I like and the character development is superb. I was able to sympathize with these characters and the lives that they led because everyone does what they think is the best thing to do. Everyone makes mistakes, but things do seem to come back around so that people can learn how to amend for their mistakes. I think that this is the key moral of this story. I recommend this book to those who enjoy second chance stories as well as contemporary romance genres. I did thoroughly enjoy this work and look forward to reading more by this talented author.
A Review of With Every Breath by Niecey Roy Second chance love - 5+++ stars This is the first book in a new series by the AMAZING Niecey! Jaden is returning to the hometown she spent her teenage years in, to visit her best friend. The last time she talked to Mia, she could tell that something was going on in her friends life and she wanted to be there to help her if possible. Jaden had a crush on Mia's older brother for as long as she knew his family. Then, just as they were getting ready to take the plunge and start a relationship, Cole's ex girlfriend shows up pregnant, so she left town with plans to never return. She likes the life that she has built for herself - she has a dream job, with the freedom to travel where ever she wants AND she gets paid for it. She decides to drop in on Mia's life and find out what is going on, before Mia has a breakdown. However, her rental car breaks down before she can get there and she has to call Mia for help. Mia, being Mia, calls her brother to go and help Jaden. Cole is in the process of his wife divorcing him. When he found out that she was pregnant, he did the right thing by her and married her for the sake of their son, even though it cost him the love of his life. Now that he will be a free man, he can't stop thinking about Jaden and how he let her slip out of his life. When he gets the call from Mia asking him to go and help Jaden, he has to wonder if he is being given a second chance to do things right. When Cole shows up to help Jaden with her car problems, she doesn't know that he is no longer with his wife and she takes offense when he asks her out to dinner. She is determined not to let him into her life a second time, but Cole is determined to win her back and show her that they could be perfect together. Will they be able to put the past behind them and walk into the future together, or will lies and manipulation destroy them for good? I love all the characters that Niecey fleshes out in this book and I am sooo looking forward to more books in the River Bend Series. I could see there will be stories for at least five or six people that I would love to read. There were a lot of laughs, some good sexy times and wonderful conversations with multi-generational characters. Just goes to show that you are never too old for sexy times or love. **Complimentary Copy provided by Author for an honest review.**
