We restrict our self-worth to the memories of our past trauma. We look in the mirror and see the sharp words of our bullies stitched across our faces. We see our own bruised up bodies that abusers left behind such a long long time ago, much like an empty shell washed back up onto the shore. We see the rejection and the abandoned that people put some of us in or through, the very same people that we might have could or would have never actually been capable of doing anything of the sort.
