I am going to try out several patterns to enlarge my repertoire for future design work.
This book will not give you yarn ideas or tensions so why not try knitting a square using your stash and go on from there. A blanket could be a good starting point to check out some combinations that appeal to you.
One thing to note is that all patterns are written and unless you are an experienced knitter you may not know instantly which stitch is being used.
