Overview

Philadelphia-based emo pop act Modern Baseball completed their second album, You're Gonna Miss It All, while still relatively wet behind the ears. Just three years into their existence, the band had already cultivated an infectiously catchy sound, drawing on high-energy melodic punk influences like Motion City Soundtrack and Tokyo Police Club while painting lyrical pictures with the same vulnerable honesty of older veterans of the emo world like the Promise Ring or the Weakerthans. The peppy and ceaselessly upbeat tunes that make up the album rush by in a stream of self-aware lyrics about uncertain romantic relationships, disappointment, and the more bitter side of unrequited love, on the especially caustic "Your Graduation." ~ Fred Thomas
