I enjoyed the first one-which was free-so I decided to go ahead and pay the $2.99 for this one. I was a bit upset when I bought it and found that it was only 128 pages while the free one had been over 400. This is not a novel and should be advertised as a novella. Right away the dialogue seemed fake and rehearsed. I was also pretty annoyed that the dad was so laid-back about killing zombies-joking about a kid down the street who had tried to kiss his daughter. Yes, he's just a zombie now, but he had been a kid and had died so it seemed both disrespectful and unrealistic. The banter between the MC and the two guys interested in her go old after only a few pages. It was clear after just ten pages that this one had not been edited as well as the first. Since it's self-published, it's normal to have a few typos-I'm a writer too and understand that no matter how many times you go through your work you never catch them all-but this had way more than a few typos. Certain things that Cassie said sounded nothing like what a teenager would say. I don't know any seventeen-year-olds who would say, "Bryce has this insane idea that you're sweet on me." The dialogue got worse as the book progressed and it went from feeling a little fake to me actually rolling my eyes while I read it. There was so much joking around between the characters that it got annoying, and made the whole thing completely unrealistic. I don't think anyone is going to stop in the middle of a zombie fight to crack a joke with their friends. The pacing was way off. There were parts that I'm sure were supposed to be suspenseful but they went by so quickly and had so little detail that they not only weren't, but they were confusing. The plot was odd-not so much about zombie's as some guy's obsession. By the end of the story I felt like I was reading a Scary Movie book because it was not only unrealistic, but all the jokes were just over the top. I think she was trying to make it humorous like Zombieland, but it was just too much. The MC became annoying because she was just so unreasonable and so "I can take care of myself" that it went from being a fun "kick-ass" character to an annoying teenage brat. Not sure if I'll read the third.

While I enjoyed the story, it was much too short. Still love the characters, including the new ones, but enough gushing over Cassie already. I get it, she's awesome...

Good Zombie book. Action, humor and strong female chatacters. Young adult book that will appeal to people over 30 as well. This book was Part two and quite short in length. I liked the first book better but this was good as well. I will purchase part three which I hope is longer...

Kind of annoying. The main character is written as perfect, sweet, kind, brave, beautiful, good at everything. She has no depth and the other characters are left in the dust. Not particulsrly well written and these books should be labeled as novellas for being so short. Totally not worth 2.99 each.

This would be a great book, but for $2.99 you only get 129 pages. Very disappointed.
