About the Author

Corrie ten Boom (1892-1983) was born in Haarlem, The Netherlands. After being arrested in 1944 for helping Jews escape the Nazi regime, Corrie spent the last year of World War II in various prison camps. After the war, she was invited to share her experiences in over sixty countries and was honored by the state of Israel for her work during the war. Her life story, The Hiding Place, was originally released in 1971. In 1977, she settled in California, where she remained until her death in 1983, on her 91st birthday.

John and Elizabeth Sherrill have authored or coauthored numerous best sellers with sales in excess of 50 million, including The Hiding Place, The Cross and the Switchblade, and God's Smuggler.
Corrie ten Boom (1892-1983) endured 10 months in Ravensbruck concentration camp for hiding Jews in her family's home in Holland. After her release at age 52, Corrie spoke around the world and wrote more than 10 books, including the bestselling The Hiding Place and In My Father's House.
Elizabeth Sherrill (www.elizabethsherrill.com) and her husband, John, coauthored numerous bestsellers--classics such as The Hiding PlaceThe Cross and the Switchblade, and God's Smuggler. They were associated with Guideposts magazine for many years and were cofounders of Chosen Books, along with Leonard and Catherine Marshall LeSourd. Elizabeth has three children, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. In May 2018, the Sherrills were awarded ECPA's Kenneth N. Taylor Lifetime Achievement Award during the 40th Anniversary Celebration of the Christian Book Awards in Washington, DC, with Anne Graham Lotz. John Sherrill (1923-2017) and his wife, Elizabeth, co-authored numerous bestsellers--classics such as The Hiding Place, The Cross and the Switchblade and God's Smuggler--and traveled the world researching and writing articles and books. Longtime editors for Guideposts magazine, they also co-founded Chosen Books. The Sherrills have three grown children, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
