Entering the stadium that day, there was no way to prepare for what would come. There were too many scenarios. For instance, a Mets win and a Milwaukee win would create a tie, resulting in a one-game playoff the next day. A Mets win and a Milwaukee loss would clinch a playoff spot as the wild card.
