I have always loved the story of David's life. It showed me that even one who was closest to God's heart was not always perfect. So many people turn from God's saving grace because they think they have to be perfect to come to Him. Our human nature prevents perfection. Only by staying close to Him and depending upon Him to help us not to sin and to forgive when we do, can we say as David did, "Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow."
