Overview

In all his four hundred years, Rayven never met a woman like Rhianna McLeod. She is a vision of light, of warmth, of everything he is not—nor can ever be. Doomed to live forever in darkness and solitude, he knows all too well the risk in getting close to her, yet he hungers for her with a fierce passion he swears he will never allow himself to feel.

Rhianna's father sold her to Rayven to put food on the table so she had no choice but to go with the dark stranger. To her surprise, he gives her everything she wants: the finest clothes, education, and the run of the castle everything, that is, except his touch. For although she senses danger beneath the soft-spoken manner, although even Rayven himself warns her to stay away, she is drawn to this creature of the night, and loves him as she will no other.

    Sweet and Oh So Wonderful

Romances with a paranormal story line have always been my favorites. This is no exception. There is so much mystery and suspense within this novel it'll leave you with your toes curled and wondering what will happen next. This is a very well written drama about a lone vampire who finds love with a woman who wishes to let him see the light of life. I'm keeping this one!!

I love her books. This one is my favorite. I love how Ravayn pushes her away to protect her, but love finds it self to be stronger and he finds her back at his house and close to heart. He is lonely and her innocense is just what it takes to make his heart melt.

    Beautiful love story

I really enjoyed this love story. I did not like that he was forever sending her away. Interesting twist at the end. I recommend this book.

    My favorite

I love this book sooo much I have read so many times. I love how there a poem that goes with some of the chapters. This was one of the first paranormal romances I started to read, and I have read several over the years but I must say this continues to be a favorite of mine I highly recommend it.

    A Darker Dream

This book was alright. It is about a young girl in the 1800's being sold so her father can support the rest of her family. She is bought by Rayven, who buys her to spare her the shame of being on the auction block naked. He ends up falling in love with her, sending her away to Paris to go to school and grow up. She comes back a young women, and the feelings are still there. They fall in love all over again. The "vampire" side of Rayven is always an issue and separates them several times. The end has a twist I have never heard of before, interesting idea. It is an "alright" book.

    a darker dream for sure

O my gosh this is one of the best book that I have read in years. Normally if a book doesn¿t interest me in the first few pages I put in down. No, but this one it was hard to put down. I loved it so much I even read it the second time around. I love the characters, especially Ravens. This book is a must have. I loved it.

    Alright

I admit, I am a bit intimidated to write a review that is less than sterling after reading all the 5 stars. However, I feel I should say a bit something. It is a good story, but I felt a bit... juvenile. *wince* I read this one early on in my new interest of others in the supernatural genre, and admit it would not have gotten me hooked had there not been two others beforehand. I'm not saying don't read it, but I am disappointed that my desperation for something new to consume urged me to buy it. If money is in low supply, it isn't worth the $5.00. I liked Rayven very much. His strength compromised by his love for Rhianna and the terrible struggle to let her go and live without her was absolutely beautiful. Who doesn't love a man strong enough to survive a broken heart? He's a wonderful 'tortured hero'. Also, I love the relationship between servant and master, and the nightly visits. It sort of felt, though, that Rhianna's family was an afterthought. It wasn't very strong in that area. Actually, I think there are several areas it wasn't very strong, but that doesn't detract from the overall feel of the story. It's a good book, but don't buy it before reading it. If you lean toward the more aggressive, action-packed vampire novels, this is not it. This one's gentle and sweet, so-to-speak. It's not blood-pounding, but it does get intense towards the end. You race to see what happens. However, I was very disappointed in how simple the conversion from vampire back to human was. It left me a bit incredulous. I mean, it's nice that it could be that easy, but... realistic? I was disappointed in that part.

    A love so powerful...

When I first read this book I was so amazed by it. This author tells love like it is. I love the idea of a powerful, and physically strong man who is so gentle, and caring. I love how he cared for her, and loved her so much that he had to send her away from him for her best. This book is one the most beautiful vampire-human love story I've ever read. I've read it twice since I bought it 6 months ago. I would recommand this to everyone. It will show you a beautiful kind of love and passion.

A tale of a vampire and his dark desires.

Rayven and Rianna are fron two completely different worlds...this tale begins when their worlds collide. Rhianna is a tender youth that is sent to live in Rayven's castle...a man surronded by mystery and intrige. A page turner a must read...as are all of Amanda Ashely's books.
