This book is a great read for everyone. Life is what we make it, lots of lessons to learn, and live by. When I read D.L.'s books, the feeling is real. Did not want to put it down until the end. Enjoy!

When the cover on "A Place No One Should Go" caught my eye, I couldn't help picking it up. Am I glad I did. I love a good suspense novel. The story is set in Florida and starts with a prologue about a creepy letter written by a Spanish Don. It's a report about a man so evil his own people kill him. The story goes forward to today to a guy who takes his family on a canoeing and camping trip. He takes them to a spot a 'friend' recommended. One the way to the recommended spot, the family pass some strange ancient warning markers and, somehow a snake drops into their canoe which is tied on to their vehicle. The wife, Carolyn, I really like her character, thinks these are some omens and that they should 'camp' somewhere else, however, her husband, Ben, is a stubborn man who has already made up his mind where he wants to camp.
After the family set-up their camp, an Indian shows up from some place and tells them a story/legend about how this spot they chose is evil and that 'only the pure of heart' are safe to spend the night at this spot. It really gets intense with Ben having to decide whether the demon that seems to be after him is the Indian just trying to scare them or a real evil spirit.
This book is a fast read that you can't put down! Don't read it with the lights out!
The author holds your attention and knows how to finish a story. I'll look forward to reading more novels by DL Havlin.
My biggest criticism is that the book wasn't long enough.
Another thing I liked was that I could identify with some of my friend's husbands in the Ben character. I'm thinking of purchasing each one a copy of "A Place No One Should Go".
