    Excellent story

    Well worth the price, the story grabs you from the beginning. Ending is not for the squeamish but it is well-written and will appeal to fans of thrillers.

    Not the best thing I've ever read...

    If you like pages and pages of narrative, then you should like this one. I think the narrative outweighed the dialogue at about 90 to 10. I couldn't find any reason to really like the main female character. I felt she was a little overdone and some things she did were stupid, given her previous training. The main male character was a little wimpy and I felt he portrayed Pavlov's dogs pretty well, in that he accepted the dismissive way the female character often treated him, which is pretty unrealistic. What romance there was, was stagnant and not very well done. As a whole, I wasn't impressed with this book, but I will probably try one more of hers, just to see if this was a fluke and others are actually better. If this is the norm for Ms Unger, I will not be reading any more of her work.

    Great Read!

    Lisa Unger did a great job with this book. This is the first I have read from her and really enjoyed it. I like how she laces each character's story throughout the novel - the characters were developed beautifully. While this was not an edge-of-your-set thriller, it was a great murder mystery. I admit I was a little put-off by some reviews that stated she used vast amounts of inappropriate language (something I also find unnecessary, and it also tends to be a sign of poor character development, when the author finds it necessary to drop f-bombs to show that a character is tough), however I would like to take the time to address that for anyone else who is wary: this book is by no means peppered with inappropriate language. Yes, the characters drop "f-bombs" a handful of times, but this by no means takes away from the characters or the overarching story line. I would recommend this book to friends and only wish it was available to lend on the nook!

    Readable romance-mystery

    More romance than mystery and I prefer mysteries. Often seemed overly familiar, as if I had read it before. Kay Hooper or Iris Johansen?

    I found the billing for this book highly deceptive. The copyright given is 2011, which I found out applies to the preface only. The book's copyright is really 2002. I thought I was buying her latest book, only to find out after the fact it was her first book, written under her maiden name.

    Excellent read. Kept me turning pages. Unger is a good writer and keeps you interested all way through book. Loved it. Have read her books before and will continue to read them.

    Brace yourself--it's gory..

    ...beginning with a rather graphic description of a body and ending with more of the same. The writing is good and sound but the overall tone of the book doesn't allow you to edit the violence in a way your mind can handle and still sleep at night. Probably won't read any more of her books.

    Will be looking for more by this author.

    Read this one on planes and in airports - wish the flights were longer! Had to keep putting the book away and didn't want to. This story kept me interested - one of those books you stay up all night to finish.

    Didn't even finish

    When you realize a third of the way through a book that you don't care who is the murderer, you need to stop reading the book and wasting your time. That should be an indication of what I felt about this book.

    Not Recommend

    These characters are just too perfect for me. Descriptions of her beauty was extreme. Leading Character has has too many issues. Boyfriend is a saint. Don't bother reading it.

    don't waste your time.

    Very disappointed in the book. Instead of focusing on the plot, it rambled on and on about the main character. I got bored and stopped reading.
