I very much enjoyed this futuristic space drama, though at times the age of the novel showed. Older science fiction always makes computers look like the silly primitive things they were in those days. It makes the suspension of disbelief tough. Otherwise, it was a well written story. I bought the next book in the series and can't wait to read it.

Overview
The super giant star Antares exploded in 2512, isolating the human colony on Alta from the rest of human space for more than a century. One day, a powerful warship materialized in the system without warning. Alarmed, the Altan Space Navy dispatched a ship to investigate. What ASNS Discovery finds is a battered hulk manned by a dead crew.
