All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Boasting a fuller sound and a more focused sense of purpose, Antichrist Superstar is a substantial improvement on Marilyn Manson's debut album, Portrait of an American Family. The band draws equally from schlock metal, progressive metal, new wave, goth rock, and industrial rock, and with the help of producers Trent Reznor and Dave Ogilvie, the group creates a boiling, mockingly satanic mess of guitars, synthesizers, and ridiculously "scary" vocals. Even with that considered, Antichrist Superstar is an unexpectedly cohesive album from a silly shock metal band and will stand as Marilyn Manson's definitive statement.

MARILYN MANSON IS SOOOO AWESOME AND THE BEST ROCK STAR EVER.

I LOVE MARILYN MANSON HIS MUSIC IS THE BEST AND I LOVE HIS STYLE. HE HAS THAT MESSAGE OUT THAT BE WHAT YOU WANT AND DO WANT YOU WANT NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS AS LONG AS YOU ARE YOURSELF AND YOU LIKE IT. AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT I THINK.

A ride through the depths of hell

This album is perhaps the darkest album I've ever experienced. When I first heard this album ten years ago it actually gave me apocalyptic nightmares. And that's what intrigues me the most about it. Upon the title, I, like probably most, thought it was some schlock satanic statement, but it is far more than that. It's a journey through one man's personal hell through every "sin" imaginable. It shows that an apocalypse is more personal than global. Whereas a band such as Slayer throws melody out the window and uses speed guitar and distorted screams to evoke an angry and "blasphemous" statement (not that I'm dogging Slayer), Manson uses a quiet moment of discontent and builds up to a crazed emotion that just goes out of control. It's like listening to an intense nervous breakdown. If you like any kind of metal infused with industrial overtones, I don't think you could find anything better than this album.

    MOST EXCELLENT

This cd is one of Manson's best. I must say it has INCREDIBLE SONGS including the most popular "The Beautiful People" . I think that this is a wonderful cd and if you love and/or like Mr. Marilyn Manson, THEN GET THIS CD... And if you like and/or love this cd than i think you'll enjoy HolyWood(In the shadow of deathvalley) and Mechanical Animals which are both Marilyn Manson cds... Ba Da Bop Bop Bop I'm Lovin' It

    Love it!

I have been a Manson fan for as long as I can remember, and have also used Ginger Fish as inspiration and motivation for my often hard drumming career. This CD was probably one of my favourite ones, though, because of the meanings of the songs... Sure, to some people Manson is just screaming about random things, but in reality there is a huge amount of symbolism and hidden meanings!

    Rock On!!!

I really love listening to Manson and what he has to say about the world and the poop we live in and some people are like he's just a fag and he's music sucks and stuff like that well they're just a bunch of conceded posers who are going to be eating out of my hands one of these days and will one day realise they serve no purpose in this hellhole.

    Marylin Manson is the best!!!

He let his own feelings get in touch with his songs and let out whatever he's feelings.

    Manson Rulz!

This must be Mansons best album yet. It rulz! Pity his new albums (Mechanical Animals) are so 'techno'. But not everyone can be satisfied! I hope too see more good albums to come.
