Lily Harlem is an award winning, multi-published author of erotic romance and erotica. She lives in the UK and since giving up a career in nursing has been widely published on both sides of the Atlantic. Her stories are made up of colourful characters travelling on everyone's favourite journey, falling in love, and with the bedroom door left well and truly open readers are warned to hang on for the ride, or rides as the case might be.
Lies, lust, and obsession are an explosive combination in Anything for Him by Natalie Dae and Lily Harlem.
From the beginning, Dae and Harlem create two interesting characters, Hannah and Luiz, who are exploring their dark, kinky sexual fantasies via e-mail. After communicating for a while, they decide that it is time to meet each other and act out these fantasies. At this point, Hannah’s character changes from a woman wanting to explore her kinky side to a woman so obsessed with Luiz that she turns into a stalker, trying to see him before they arrange a meeting time. This dramatic change in Hannah left me stunned and disheartened by her actions. Meanwhile, the authors introduce us to Luiz, who misrepresented himself to Hannah and is a criminal to boot, making him a very difficult to like. Hannah and Luiz’s initial sex scene is incredibly hot with its light elements of BDSM play, including ropes and blindfolds. Their later sexual encounters are dark, dirty, and difficult to read because of the deceptions by both characters.
As this story progressed, I hoped that the authors would redeem these characters with some kind of realization that their actions were hurtful and destructive, so their union would mean something. In the end, the reader is left with two unlikeable characters who do unthinkable things to each other with little or no remorse, making this a book that was difficult to read, let alone enjoy.
I received an eBook copy from the author for purpose of an honest review for The Jeep Diva. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.
