BLIND...

Dean had it all: a plush investment banking job in New York City, a blue-blooded girlfriend, and the all-important Harvard pedigree. Losing it all was yet another test of life and Dean was always good with tests. He was soon onto bigger and better things: a new exclusive job managing money for a European scion and a new romance with an exotic beauty.

...SIDE

But when his best friend turns up murdered in Dean's apartment and an astronomical sum goes missing from his client's account, the young banker finds himself in unfamiliar territory: a wanted fugitive on the underside of New York City. With the FBI and an ice-cold assassin in pursuit, this is one test for which Dean may neither have the skills...or the time.

"Michael May sizzles in this explosive debut which put him on the map alongside the likes of Grisham, Clancy, and Patterson, creating a page-turner which will keep you guessing until the last page. Do not start this one at night if you expect to get any sleep. Un-put-downable!"

Editorial Reviews

Andrew Leonard
This little gem of a book really surprised me. I thought I would just nibble at it during my commute, but then ended up staying up half the night to finish it. It really pulls you in and keeps you wanting to find out what happens next. There are plenty of twists, but it was really the quality of the writing and the great dialogue that kept me tuned in. As good as any 15 dollar hardcover from the book store and a heck of a lot cheaper. I would definitely recommend.

I love mysteries and thrillers and this is one of the better books I have come across in the last year. Unlike many other authors, Michael May actually knows what he is talking about and he is able to describe both the world of high finance and the underworld of high crime with equal expertise. My favorite part though was that all of the characters were human, with interesting and well-developed back stories...and the dream sequences were both hilarious and terrifying.

I am a huge fan of thrillers and I enjoy the kind of book that can keep me literally on the edge of my seat, turning the pages, and looking forward to discovering what happens next. What I loved about Blindside was that it had all the elements of a great thriller - deftly drawn characters, great pacing, multiple narrative threads - but without having to resort to formula. The storyline managed to be fresh and interesting, which is becoming increasingly rare in today's world.
Mike Lee
Swift action, great characters, snappy dialogue. This book was pretty original but still created a scenario that I thought was pretty realistic. If Michael May decides to write a sequel, definitely put me down for a copy. The guy is a seriously talented writer and I'm sure we'll be hearing a lot more from him. For the price, this book is a steal. Give it a try - I guarantee you'll enjoy it.

    highly recommend - great thriller!

This is a terrific book. It's well plotted, with believable characters, and great pacing. After the first few pages, I was sucked in. Could not put it down, stayed up late to finish it, which to me is the number one factor when it comes to rating a book. I want it to keep me on the edge of my seat, so to speak, and Blindside definitely did that. Really good book and I can't wait for Michael May's next effort.

    Good but some issues,,,

Book was fast paced and interesting, I would recommend it!
The issues i had with the book was how predictable it was towards the end
The amount of misspelled words and errors in grammar are hard to over look, had to reread many sentances more than once due to errors if the word should be the and says she it throws me
If you can get past the poor writing it is a great book

    Very readable

Its fast paced, kind of corny with dean way of thinking a lot of the time, slightly predictable, and the ending was VERY abubt....I didnt even realize i was on the last page...a good metaphor would be this: imagine your a passenger in a car thats speeding down a highway for a really long time then slams on the brakes without giving you any heads up and just comes to a full stop and BANG! Thats the end this book. But it was still a good story.

    GENIUS.

I dont get easily impressed with novels anymore, once you begin to notice a common theme in every genre. This author takes the suspense genre and molds it into a completly new meaning. This novel was absolutely increadible! Many editing mistakes, but the story itself is the Godfather of twists.

    Not What I Expected

This was not a book that I enjoyed. I "fast forwarded" through much of it. The author showed a lot of imagination, but the story was decidedly unpleasant. If the reader enjoys stories about playing with a person's psychological well-being, then it will be an enjoyable read. Otherwise, probably not.
