Meet the Author

I live in beautiful Queensland in Australia. I started writing in 2009 because I wanted to do something creative and haven't stopped since! I have two series of books:

The Heller series (first book Heller - free!) features the frequently outlandish adventures of security officer, Tilly Chalmers, and her complicated relationship with her beautiful, mysterious and intense boss, Heller. There will be seven books in total in this series.

The Little Town series (first book Blood Ties - free!) features police officer, Tess Fuller, and her struggle to survive a long-standing vendetta with the feral Bycraft family and at the same time manage the tense relationship between her new partner, Finn Maguire, and her boyfriend, Jake Bycraft. There will be five books in total in this series.

My author dream is to one day write a short story (which for me will probably be about 50,000 words!) where Tilly & Heller meet Tess & Finn. What a story that would be! Maybe over the end-of-year break???

I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them! I'd love to hear your feedback, so why not email me at: jdn.author@gmail.com

    Blood Ties

First of all, I can't believe this book was a free download - There are 1,044 pages!!

The Bycrafts have bullied and harassed (and even murdered) the Fuller women for generations. When Tess Fuller returns home to Little Town to help take care of her dying father, she is the entire Bycraft Clan's number one victim. Usually, a family has at least one black sheep, but the Bycraft's are the opposite ... there is only one good guy - Jake. Even with the well know feud between the families, they fall in love. Blood Ties is filled with adventure, challenges, and of course romance!!

Will their love be strong enough to overcome the hatred of their families or will Tess be this generation's Fuller victim??

    Unnecessarily vulgar language

Would have been a fair book if it wasn't so full of the vulgar F word!! I do not understand why people think the cursing and foul language sounds good. If you can't write or talk without using that kind of language, maybe you would be better off keeping your mouth shut and thoughts to yourself! As far as I am concerned, even if you are very handsome or beautiful, when that filth spews out , it removes any beauty. Remove all of that language and it would have been a pretty good book.

Honestly, I couldn't put this book down and I love it that I have it on my Nook Color so I can re-read it again.
    Good job JD Nixon.

    Highly Recommended - Loved it!

I read the book Blood Ties first and enjoyed it so much that I looked to see what other books this author had available and read Heller the very next day. I am waiting on pins and needles for the sequels in both series! I generally have a hard time reading romances with "tough" women. Not that I like weak or flaky heroines but more because I love having strong lead males taking care of women I can relate to. The author was able to make her characters stand out and be not only physically strong but emotionally which drew me in. The men are completely quirky, strong, and yummy. JD Nixon -I need these sequels so please, please continue writing!

Too Long with Absolutely No Point!

I read this entire book--all 1,044 pages!! I found it to be dull with too many backstories that weren't relevant to the story at all. Senior Constable Fuller's continued harassment from the Bycraft family is idiotic--even more so because she has the authority to do something about it!

There is not enough I can say about this book or the author asid

There is not enough I can say about this book or the author aside from AMAZING. I am not good at really leaving a review that will tell you what the book is about because I will be a spoiler and I don't like that so I won't do it to you. I will say that if you want a book that will draw you completely take the time and read this book or any of her other books. You will not be disappointed.

Dragged on with a lot of unnecessary detail

The basis of the story is supposed to be a long-standing feud between two families, but that theme was never really developed. The "news article" flashbacks in the beginning were completely superfluous and didn't tie in well; most of the conflict came across as a bunch of morons with a personal vendetta against an individual, rather than a feud between two distinct groups.
The story dragged on forever (at times it was like reading a soap opera script) and never really picked up momentum. Things only progressed around the last 100 pages of the story, which I only got to because I hate starting a book and not finishing it. Worse, the ending was abrupt, completely unsatisfying, and left loose ends.

How many times can Tess get beat up?

Nixon's idea of entertaining topics is limited to one woman getting the poo kicked out of her consistently. I only read to the end to find out if someone would just put her out of her misery...

This was totally different from what I normally read and it was great! I sure hope a sequel is planned. I highly recommend this to all adults. I don't recommend it to any one under 17 due some of the violent scenes and sexual content . The best thing is it was FREE

    Really Long, Really Bad

over 1 thousand pages but got sick of the foul language at less than 1/2 way thru. I have a potty mouth but this author went way overboard. Got sick of it.

    Going Nowhere

I kept reading simply beacause I felt it must go somewhere eventually. Wrong! A waste of time.

    Excellent book

I liked the story a lot! Honestly, my only complaint is the ending. It just stops and I was waiting for more. I saw reviews complaining about the storyline being slow, use of cursing, etc. I thought the development of the characters was great. I believe the cursing actually helped show the characters true personalities. I would have gladly paid for this book and will be buying the rest of the series!

Loved this book!! I got this as a free e-book, and wasn't expecting much but boy was I surprised. It is not the usual type of book that I read but I couldn't put it down. I looked up the author and purchased all her other e-books (either free or $1.99). I was very surprised that it was a new author because IMHO it is superb writing. I didn't mind the swearing at all. Keep up the good work JD!!!

    Boring

Really boring 600 pages in and its the same ole plot that isnt going anywhere. It makes me angry that the character acts so tuff and then lets the bycrafts run all over her....if u want to kill some time read the book its free but be prepared for a whole lot of boring........
