    more from this reviewer

An amusing ¿pirate¿ romantic suspense thriller

Her sixteen year old daughter Tara believes her single mom Amy Stewart needs some recreational time as she is always working. She persuades her mother to play the virtual reality game Buckling Swashes created by a local resident. To shut up her nagging teen, Amy agrees to try the game. To her surprise Amy as Earless Erika is quite good at the game. Soon she and blood thirsty pirate Black Corbin must meet on the virtual seven seas as both have become ¿locked¿ inside the game. Amy expects to defeat her foe as she has already bested him with swords, but deep inside she hates war and worse is attracted to her deadly foe.............. Corbin Monroe is stunned how good his opponent is as he was the best player in the game he created until Earless Erika arrived on the scene and defeated him. However, someone is trying to destroy Corbin on the real plane as well as on the virtual game. Corbin believes he needs to persuade Amy that they must team up if they are to identify and stop the swashbuckling villain who has ¿trapped¿ them in virtual reality. Besides that he must convince the new champion that they belong together in the real world too..................... BLOW ME DOWN is an amusing ¿pirate¿ romantic suspense thriller starring a swashbuckling financial accountant and the most dangerous computer programmer on the high seas. The story line is fast-paced whether it occurs in virtual reality or in the not so mundane realm (the heroine seems right that sex is better in the latter). Fans will appreciate this fine tale while wondering if love found over the web can be the real thing........................... Harriet Klausner

    Love the author....

But this book wasnt a favorite of mine. Where i am normally chuckling to myself and can hardly put any of Katie Macs books down, this one kinda drug along. It was alright, but corny and doesnt amount to her other books in my opinion.

    Blew me away!

This is book is a must-read! Katie MacAlister has created a fascinating combination of fantasy and reality by placing the majority of this story in the virtual world of a pirate virtual reality game. The characters aren't the typical ones in my favorite romance novels but they turned out to be funny and entertaining and I found their romance to be very sweet at times and vastly entertaining making me laugh out loud at others. It's the perfect blend between plot, romance, and humor, and it's definitely one I re-read often.

    Hard to put down

This book was so different from the dragon series that I've read by this author. It was interesting and entertaining and really hard to put down once I started reading. The author has placed the plot in today's times by using a computer game as the basis. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

    I Also Recommend:

    Boring! Didn't even finish reading.

I have never read this author before but picked up the book because it looked entertaining. Boy was I wrong. Not even half way into the book and I was bored. Not to mention the romantic scenes were terrible. The whole pirate theme was distracting and I didn't like either of the main characters. The most redeeming character was Holder who at least was likeable and interesting and not in the book nearly enough to make me want to finish the book. I would not recommend this book at all.

    Wonderful!!!

THis book is great. I am a huge Historical fiction reader, as well as paranormal romance and contemporary. Katie MacAlister does a great job of keeping Blow Me Down to date while throwing in a twist of historical fiction, in the form of a virtual reality game. With characters who you love more with every passing page, this story keep you grinning until the very last page. I reccomend it to Historical Fiction lovers as well as Katie MacAlister readers. You will all enjoy this book.

    Blow Me Down

When Amy is informed by her daughter that she does not know how to have fun, the single mother accepts the challenge that accompanies this statement. She will play the VR game, Buckling Swashes, and prove she can have fun. However, something goes wrong. When she wakes on Black Corbin's pirate ship, Amy can't feel the glasses that are her link to reality. Though disconcerted, she still manages to defeat Corbin in a duel and win a ship of her own. This is all well and good, but this world is too real, and Amy can't find her way back to her life. There is simply no way to escape, a fact confirmed when Corbin comes to her, introducing himself as the game's creator. He can't get back to the real world either they discover. Someone has taken over the game, trapping both of them inside it. Their only link to the outside world is Holden, an amiable sometimes leper, sometimes another character. Besides trying to find the traitor, Amy and Corbin need to stay alive, Amy wants to enact social justice for the characters, and they discover a very real passion that both would like to continue in the real world, if they can get back to it. ............................ **** No, this is not a romantic version of Tron. It's far more amusing and fun. You never really know exactly what twist or turn it will take next, but you can be sure wherever it goes, you will laugh out loud. ****

EARLESS ERIKA and Melt in your Mouth Pirate

AMAZING. Katie Macalister gets better and better. Men in Kilts is one of my favorite books of all time, and Blow Me Down is moving up the ranks. WOW. Her books are better in multiple doses. Read, laugh, and wait with anxious hearts for the next Macalister triumph.
