Its good to find some sci fi that isn't stupidly overdone. This story was quite well stitched together, though you almost need to read it a second time to appreciate it.

This short story provided some suspense with a twist at the end. However, the end left open some options that would have been good to follow through on. I enjoyed what there was, but it left me wanting more of the story.

Liked the pace! Yeah, it could have been longer. Maybe it's just so good you don't want it to stop!

A good one night read. Not too overblown; not dragged out too much.

I can't see why the other reviews say its too short. As a short story its a decent length.
The mood of the story was just perfect, and I loved the way the quotes all the way through came into play at the end.

Only about 100 pages and is VERY stupid, glad it was free, don't bother unless you have 5 minutes you need to waste. Only gave one star cause I couldn't give none or a half of one.

Overview
It took them five months to get there. Now the two astronauts have finally arrived on Mars. Their mission is to recover samples from a deep-well exploration rig, which has been stranded for twelve years. One of those samples in its lab - a new metal element - could have a huge impact on power generation back on Earth. Perhaps it could even make interstellar travel a possibility.
But it soon becomes apparent that someone doesn't want them to take it back. And Mars can be a desolate planet when things go wrong.
