Book Downloads in Tiny Type - Don't Bother

This is not a review - just a warning that you practically need a magnifying glass to read this as you can't adjust the font size. Unless this is fixed, don't bother

Good so far, but my eyes.......

The font is too small, but you can adjust a little. I started to read in despite of the font and it seems like good book so far, hopefully my eyes will not become strained!

    Great book.

This is a wonderful book. I like fantasy novels and this novel is a totally different spin on fantasy. The story is so haunting because of the love of a father for his daughter. I think it points out that people at sometime in their life just have to BELIEVE.
I had a hard time putting my Nook down but sometimes my eyes just gave out. Since I've read it, I've found myself thinking about it at different times. Everyone doesn't like the same books but this is a beautiful story.

Worth reading. Kept me interested all the way through. Not Boring.

I really liked the way the author kept me wanting to know more. My only big issue was that I had to read this in the smallest font ever. I could not get my color nook to change the size of the words. Otherwise, the story was different and fresh. Not just another mystery, drama, or biography.
The author used a great deal of creativity in writing a story that could be true if you have any imagination. It had the conflict, despair, and emotions that one would expect from a story of an ill child, the father and mother. The reality of the conflict between the parents was well written, probably from life experiences, either seen or felt. All in all worth reading, just please fix the issue with the font size.

    A Sweet Story

A touching story about a girl who is fighting cancer while struggling with her relationships with her divorced parents and trying to save the fantasy world her father and her created when she was little. A very magical read!

    more from this reviewer

Will you like this book? That depends upon how you feel about the ending.

Pros: Realistic portrayal of a post-divorce dynamic; fairly accurate (if somewhat glossed-over) depiction of cancer treatment; excellent descriptions of the world of Tamarisk.

Cons: Disappointing (for me) ending; for me, the author's frequent references to real-world personalities and content often knocked me out of the narrative and broke the fourth wall.

Although it isn't specifically labeled as such, as several other reviewers have said, this seems like young adult fiction. I found the story reasonably engaging, but the swift resolution and the ending's message didn't sit well with me. I'll avoid spoilers, but there's a detail in the last few pages that changed my perspective on Tamarisk in a way that soured me a bit on the book.

Also, I disagreed with the writer's decision to mention Britney Spears, Johnny Depp, and other details that firmly set the time frame of this narrative. I think authors who choose to do this run a strong risk of dating their book prematurely.

Blue isn't a bad book, but it isn't a great one. Hindsight being what it is, I would've preferred to invest the same time in reading a title with a more satisfying resolution. It's unlikely that I'd recommend it.

    I can't put it down!

I'm not usually one for fantasy, but I love this book!!! I like to stick with a certain kind of book and this would not have been my first choice, but it is so good. I love a book that can bring me in and make me feel like I am living the story and this book has definitely done that! Also, I had no issue adjusting the font!! Enjoy!

    Fix the Font

This was offered as a free Friday download. It has the smallest font available and I can not read it without getting a headache. Spent time with Barnes and Noble help desk and they stated it was because it was free. That did not make sense since I also downloaded Until Again (which was free) and this did not have a problem. My frustration is that I loved Until Again and now can not continue reading the saga unless I can download it somewhere else because even if you bought it now at 2.99 there is still and issue with the font. Would highly recommend trying this author somewhere else...

    Font is perfectly fine

Sounds like some people need to take classes to learn to use their nooks properly before complaining about a book. It is called operator error. You can make the font as small or as large as you like. By the way, if you are posting somethiing that does not require a rating and you select one star, it does effect the overall rating which is not fair to the author or the consumer.

    Impossibly small print

If you need a larger print to read don't bother with this book. The print will not enlarge on your Nook. Can't tell you if the story is a good one since I wasn't able to read the microscopic print. Maybe someone with extra good vision wil enjoy it!

    Good story, quick read

Font was way too small and couldn't be adjusted. In a few sections there was a section with "Gage". Who was he and what was his relevance to the story? Was it a misprint in the Nook book?

    Magical!

First, to review the book.... well written and captivating. Ageless. It could be loved by a young or older reader. I very much enjoyed the mature story line about divorced parents and their teen daughter and was captivated by the imaginary world. Second... to those who don't know how to adjust your font size, don't downgrade the book, go buy it in paper. Third, got it for free on a Friday so quit complaining.
