Yes, he's ridiculously charming and she might stare a little too long at his abs, but his dirty-talking, rough-around-the-edges ways aren't for her. Plus, she knows that as a serial dater, Smith isn't the type to settle down. But then a terrible, fantastic, mind-blowing mistake leaves her body craving more than one night.

But convincing her a relationship between them will work is next to impossible with her refusing to see beyond his past. But when she asks for a week of no-strings-attached sex to get him out of her system, Smith knows this is his one chance to prove he's not just the man she needs in her bed, but the man she needs in her life.

    Another Lauren Blakely Home Run!!

Well, hellllloo Smith! Smith is a hawt fireman with a reputation. But, that reputation isn't who Smith really is. You discover who Smith really is in this novella, what makes him tick, and how much of a sweetheart he really is. Jamie is his friend - the one he wants more of. An agreement is made. When urges are finally given into, feelings are finally shared, and everything is finally out in the open, can this bad fireman prove to his good girl that he's worth the chance? Find out in Burn for Me!

Lauren Blakely was my first Indie Author that I discovered after I got my nook (Caught Up in Me & Caught Up in Us). I became hooked on her writing style, her characters, her stories. My love for her continues in Burn for Me. Though this is a novella (about 98 pages), you still get the complete Lauren experience - hot characters, dramatic story lines, and a HAE.

I have read all of Lauren Blakely¿s books and I love all of them

I have read all of Lauren Blakely’s books and I love all of them. Her Novellas could be 35 pages or 135 pages and you still feel like you you got so much out of them. This is the 135 page one and it is scorching hot!

Jamie always had the hots for Smith but she knew he was not the serious type when it came to relationships. He was a friend she could talk to and bowl with but nothing more, she didn’t want to crash and burn if it didn’t work out.

Smith always thought there was something special about Jamie but he didn’t think he was her type. Her was rough around the edges and she liked poetry and candlelight. He never would have thought that he would find out that he could be wrong….

Jamie doesn’t want to lose their friendship but comes up with a solution that she has read in her novels that Smith can not decline. And he wants to prove to her that he is not who she really thinks he is.

Jamie and Smith are amazing! Did I mention Smith is Fireman and a Construction Worker? Holy Hotness times two! I love both of the characters and they prove that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. You might be a good girl on the outside but there just might be bad girl in there somewhere. You just have to discover her.

    Quotes:

She was organized, a planner, devoted to her to-do list, and he was fly-by-the-seat-of-his-pants.

She didn’t want to risk her heart, but maybe there was a way to preserve it and satisfy these cravings.

“Take me so hard I’ll still feel it tomorrow.”

I hate to repeat myself but Lauren Blakely is awesome. She’s a writer goddess (is that such a thing?) Anyway, I have read all of her books and they are all great. Amazing even. This book has a little different feel and plot and it’s wonderful. It’s well written, funny, and hot with a smidge of angst; just the way I like it! Can you say Fireman/Construction worker/Last name as a first name = awesome!! Smith and Jamie have been friends for a while and have feeling for each other but she’s afraid he’s not romantic enough for her and he’s worried that he’s not good enough for you. His player reputation is stopping Jamie from even trying until one night he asks her to dance. That’s it, just a dance and everything changes. She let’s loose and he starts to fall. They are both afraid of getting hurt but she thinks a week together will be perfect for her and he agrees, but wants more. Can he show her that he’s the man she’s always wanted? Will she run at the first sign of trouble? You have to read it to find out! Do not miss this one!

He had a sinful combination of smolder and charm, with his close-cropped dark blond hair, strong jawline, and pure blue eyes. And his body, Just kill her with its perfection. A body like that should be outlawed.

Taking a one-way ride on the Smith train and then she’d get off it for good.

He was the very reason there were fireman calendars, and fireman erotica, and let’s face it, fireman fantasies.

Who does not love a Fireman? Let's face it, they usually are very protective, they are brave and courageous, and let's not forget... built like a brick wall HOT~

In Lauren Blakely's unique writing style, we now get a story of the a local fireman Smith, worth setting your kitchen on fire. The women in town all swarm around him every chance they get. He is charming in his own cocky way. And he has a reputation of being a player.

Our heroine, Jamie cannot help checking him out, although she knows they could never be a couple. Instead, they are good friends while holding back their mutual attraction.

As our story evolves, we are taken on a journey of "friends with benefits" which is the only solution Jamie can think of for getting rid of this attraction she has for Smith. She is determined not to fall for a player - she knows players do not stay loyal! But sex with this man is AWESOME SAUCE FANTASTIC! He has a dirty mouth that can take her through flights of fancy and unlimited virtual sex. As far as stamina is concerned, the man is nuclear! So what is a girl to do?

I love all of Lauren Blakely's novellas. This one in particular had me glued to the page until I finished it. Absolutely recommended with 5 scorching hot stars!

Grab yourself a cold drink ladies because this little novella is smoldering.  I think I might need to catch something on fire so Smith can come over and put it out.
Burn For Me is an angsty love story filled with passion and hope for more.  Jamie and Smith have always been good friends and even though she finds him sinfully sexy she is reluctant to act on those feelings.  Why?  Well because ever other woman in town feels the same way and how can she compete.  She is also afraid of losing Smith as a friend.  They have an easy banter and she looks forward to seeing him every day.  If they were to become more than friends and he walked away it would crush her.  What happens when Jamie gets this crazy idea in her head about a friends with benefits scenario that would only last one week.  Could it work?  Could she give into the attraction and get Smith out of her system?  Maybe.
Smith is crushed that Jamie only wants him for one week.  He has been waiting for the opportunity to become more than friends for quite a long time.  His jaw drops to the floor when Jamie makes him this crazy offer.  He knows he only has one week to show her he can and will be the only man she will ever need.
Lauren once again does an amazing job with character development and while this story is a novella it reads like a complete novel.  She is a master at not rushing the ending and that is what I love about all of her books.
If you find a dirty talking fireman to be sexy as sin you will find yourself in lust with Burn For Me.

I am a huge fan of Lauren Blakely's work. In the New Adult Roman

I am a huge fan of Lauren Blakely's work. In the New Adult Romance genre, she is one of my favorite authors to date. Her stories are sexy, steamy, and romantic. And although the main hero may have very naughty choice of vocabulary, this fact does not deter me from reading her books. So, this review is entirely about the book, NOT the author.

I bought this book for two reasons. One, because it’s a Lauren Blakely book. Two, the hero's occupation is a firefighter, and I LOVE firefighter romance novel no matter how cheesy they get. I always have a soft spot for people who risk their lives to save others. Men and women in uniform is our today's heroes!

Although I bought the book with haste, I have not read it until now. To be honest, I am quite disappointed with Jamie (the female main character). There's only one word I can describe her (and she even said it herself in the book): a dunce! I do not mean this as an insult to her intellect, but her constant lecture of not falling for the wrong guy. I do not like the way she treats Smith as 'just a fling' when people keep telling her that the way he looks at her is more than 'just a fling'. She is so afraid of risking her heart to Smith that she puts him in the friend-zone as soon as their one-week is up. If I was her friend, I would slap her so hard she would see stars! And by  the time she did decide to give her heart to him, she immediately suspects him of adultery. I was absolutely dumbfounded! Smith was in absolute shock when he's greeted with accusations of not caring. I feel bad for him.

Overall, the story did not do anything for me. I even skipped the sex scenes, because I want to know that the relationship between Smith and Jamie is MORE than physical. But it seems to me that Smith has more to offer than Jamie in their relationship. Physically AND emotionally.

    A must read

Another great book by Lauren Blakely, I have read many if not all of her books and I love them all. Whats not to love about a hot, sexy firefighter who is funny and charming. There is a nice story that goes along with the hotness too

Smith and Jamie had been friends for a while. They have great conversation, they flirt with each other, and they are just friends. Jamie likes Smith but didn't want to be another notch on his bedpost. He was everything she didn't want but secretly did and didn't know it. Smith wants Jamie but can't find a way to convince her that he is relationship material. They agree on a one week, no strings attached, friends with benefits arrangement. That gives Smith one week to convince her to give them a chance at something real. Will it be enough?

I love how he brings out her naughty side. When she starts using naughty words she surprises herself. Too funny! It's kind of heartbreaking to see a man with a carefree past, find the one woman he wants forever with, try to convince her that she's it for him and she doesn't believe or trust him. Great story line!

Another hit for Lauren Blakely! I can't wait for the next book in this fantastic series, Fighting Fire.

This was a fast paced, super steamy read and I really liked it a lot! It was told from dual POV's which I loved. Smith and Jamie have so much chemistry and I think they're great together. Smith is so into her and I enjoyed him opening up and being so honest and sweet. I also enjoyed his dirty talking mouth (a lot!). It was scorching! I liked Jamie too, being so into him but scared of her feelings, I thought it was awesome how she came around and opened up (in more ways than one!). I thought their story was well rounded, developed nicely, and I really enjoyed it.

I really liked meeting Becker, he seems like an good, solid guy. His book will be out soon in Melt for Him (Fighting Fire #2) and I'm really looking forward to another hot fireman story. I think this novella laid a great foundation for what is to come.

Super hot, sexy novella with a touch of sweet and a bit of tension thrown in. 4 hose me down stars. (How could I not make a fireman reference?).
