Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Photos of piglets in all shades grace the sturdy pages of Busy Piggies by John Schindel, photos by Steven Holt. Readers will pore over pages of "Piggy kissing/ Piggies squishing" and "Piggy grunting/ Piggy hunting," all the way to the final show-stopping "Piggies squeezing," in which the adorable piglets all slumber in a heap. Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.
Children's Literature
Photographs of piglets fill the pages of this board book. The pigs are pictured nuzzling, crawling atop each other to cram themselves into a tub, gazing, or lazing about and eating. The close-up shots of piglets grunting, hunting, and soaking in the mud will catch kids' attention. The pigs are cute when babies, but there is not much information about how big these porkers will grow. There is also no mention of their intelligence. Nevertheless, it is a pleasant offering for kids who enjoy looking at realistic baby animals. 2006, Tricycle/Ten Speed Press, Ages 6 mo. to 3.

    Kudos to the busy books

Great series if your child is enthusiastic about animals. My 19-month-old daughter loves this book. She has the monkeys, kitties and penguins in this series and absolutely loves these as well. She finds the illustrations comical and will immitate the animals by sounds or actions. She quickly mastered large words and concepts such as: cuddling, huddling, leaping, creeping, strolling etc. Also great for introducing rhyming text.
