    I Also Recommend:

Highly recommend for those who like paranormal.

Really enjoyed this book. I recommend the whole series. I stumbled upon this series with a novella in anthology and loved it, so I had to get my hands on the whole series. This is the third book in the series, there are 10 books released for this series to date. All are really good.

    Another knockout hit

When Brenna and Judd first met, he was risking his life and his family to save her from a crazed Psy serial killer. Months later, Brenna can no longer change into her Wolf and fears she is more Psy than Changeling. Judd is trying to find his place in a world outside of the PsyNet. Their fates are bound together again when another serial killer strikes, this time deep within the heart of the Pack. Can a man of no emotions and a woman who is emotionally wounded forge a relationship and stop a killer?'Caressed' adds a new dimension to the series plot, as Ms. Singh gives the reader just enough new worldbuilding tidbits about the Snowdancers to keep them dying for more. However, the book is also wonderful on its own with every character, from Brenna & Judd to Brenna's brothers and other minor Changelings, well rounded and utterly believable. Right up there with J.R. Ward's 'Black Dagger' series and Feehan's later 'Dark' books, 'Caressed by Twilight' is a must read for any paranormal connoisseur.

Much Improved Over Previous Series Book

"Caressed by Ice" was much better than "Visions of Heat," in my opinion. In VoH, the main characters felt forced to be with each other, in a sense; in this one, although Judd was a Psy, and his love interest Brenna was a Wolf Changeling, Brenna understood and respected his reluctance and difficulty in touching. In VoH, Vaughn, a Jaguar Changeling, didn't seem to care that Faith, a powerful Psy, would freak if he touched her. It was as if he was forcing Faith to accept it, even if it meant she would go into seizures due to his touch. You don't do that to someone you care about and want to get to know; you take your time, like Brenna and Judd did in CbI.

I'm glad Nalini Singh wrote CbI a little differently. It also gave me a chance to see the inner workings of the SnowDancer Wolfpack, as opposed to only writing about the DarkRiver Leopardpack. Much better book. Thanks to CbI, I will continue to read this series.

    Highly Recommended

I planned on taking a break from this series after the last book, than I made the mistake of reading the blurb for this one at the end of it and I was hooked on Judd immediately. It was nice to mix it up with a male Psy for this one, and what a Psy. Cold, dark, and sexy as hell. I'm a huge Judd fan. And I guess Brenna's OK too. :) It was also nice to see things from the wolves perspective this time instead of the cats, Singh does a good job of mixing it up so the reader doesn't get bored.

    I loved this book!!!

¿Caressed by Ice¿ is Nalini Singh¿s third installment in her captivating Psy/Changeling series, and continues the saga of the shape-shifting changelings and their and nemeses, the Psy. In ¿Caressed¿, Judd Lauren is the mysterious Psy refugee who has been hiding with his family amongst the Changeling Wolf SnowDancer Pack, although he realizes he can never fully fit into their world. No one in the changeling world knows exactly who or what Judd Laurens was when he was in the Psy Net, but everyone knows that he can be very dangerous. While the SnowDancers tolerate his presence in their pack, he is very aware that his Psy status and their questions about his abilities makes him far from trustworthy in their eyes. Judd struggles to keep his family outside of the Psy Council¿s radar and tries to find a place to fit within the pack, and at the same time continues working with underground Psy forces against the same council who provided his deadly training. Brenna Kincaid is an energetic and talented SnowDancer who was kidnapped by a Psy council member and viciously and psychically attacked. As she continues on a journey of healing and comes to terms with the changes resulting from the attack, she finds herself increasingly comforted and attracted to Judd¿s presence in her life. For Judd, Brenna threatens to awaken feelings that he has not only spent a lifetime suppressing, but believes will be dangerous if allowed to be unleashed. Judd and Brenna find themselves struggling to define and work out their relationship while the conflict between Psy and Changeling escalates. The pack also begins to believe there is a spy within their midst. Ever since I first read about Judd, I¿ve been anxiously awaiting his story. My wait was well rewarded! I found the book captivating, exciting, and intriguing. In 'Caressed by Ice' Nalini Singh does a wonderful job of including us in Judd and Brenna's world as they struggle to both find a traitor in their midst, and come to terms with who they are, have become, and what they mean to one another. Judd breaks your heart as he struggles to balance his need for Brenna and what he perceives as his need to protect others from his gift. He truly believes that he will be alone in the world and that there is no hope to end that. Brenna demonstrates unwavering bravery in fighting to heal from her traumatic kidnapping and fighting to make Judd her own. Once the issues preventing them from being together are resolved the heat between Judd and Brenna is scorching! As with her other books, Ms. Singh did a wonderful job creating a mystery within a mystery, and an extremely touching romance at the same time. You¿re also introduced to the ¿ghost¿ and his/her revolutionary activities within the Psy Net in the story, and are also provided with lots of juicy hints about the fates of other characters. All and all this book is an excellent read and I would recommend it wholeheartedly!!! I can¿t wait for the next one!

    What a great read!

As an Arrow, Judd Lauren was raised in Silence, which linked emotion to physical pain, making him a true Ice Man. Trained as the deadliest of assassins because of a genetic ¿gift¿, he chose to defect in order to save his family. Taken in by he SnowDancer pack, he and his family are assumed to be dead, and he wants to keep it that way. Brenna Kincaid, a member of the SnowDancer pack, was abducted and brutally violated physically and mentally by a serial killer. Determined to put the past behind her and move on, she begins to fear she has been tainted by evil when a murder occurs exactly the way she had seen it in a dream. Or was it a vision? Because Judd was part of the team to rescue her and has the Psy ability to help with the healing process, Brenna turns to him as her only hope, the only one who can understand her fear. Soon she begins to turn to him with desire, but the Ice Man refuses to be warmed by the passion that explodes between them. Then their lives are threatened and they must work together to find the killer before he strikes again -- at them. The third entry in the Psy/Changeling world, CARESSED BY ICE is fascinating, romantic, suspenseful, and sensuous. Ms. Singh has done an excellent job of creating a world where Psy and Changeling have an uneasy relationship. Both have good and evil, both are flawed, and both are coming to see the other as more than previously believed. The Psy could be us, without the psychic gifts of course. I can believe many of our politicians have the same attitude toward their constituents, not to mention their own importance, as the Council does. Several threads woven into the story are yet to be tugged further in upcoming offerings. I like that not every little plot line has been wrapped up in a neat little bow. I just wish I didn¿t have to wait so long to see what happens next. While this can be read as a stand alone, characters from SLAVE TO SENSATION and VISIONS OF HEAT interact with our hero and heroine. I¿m been a huge fan of Ms. Singh since reading SLAVE TO SENSATION, but I was unsure how she could possibly thaw Judd in a manner that would be believable. I needn¿t have wondered. Judd and Brenna, while total opposites, are designed to complement and complete each other perfectly. Totally satisfying, and with scorching sensuality, this is a series not to be missed.

This is the story of Judd a Psy Arror and Brenna a Changling. I was wondering about Brenna after being attacked in the 2nd book in this series. But she is one strong lady. I also wondered if this one would be as good since the male was the Psy in this book. But Ms. Singh went above and beyond my expectations. I just loved how even though Judd tried not to feel anything for Brenna that he couldn't help himself and couldn't keep away from her. And this book has me looking forward to more stories in this series with anticipation

    Finally! #3 in Psy-Changeling Series

Incredible! Caressed by Ice is the 3rd book in Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series. I was lucky enough to be chosen to post an early review and I have to say this book exceeded my high expectations. I thought the Psy-Changeling world couldn't get any better. . .Wow was I wrong! Anyone who doubts a Psy male can equal a changeling male in sexiness and alpha male yummy-ness be assured Judd, the elite Psy soldier, more than earns his own alpha male category! Judd's background story is finally revealed and his family members' back story is explored further. There is even a startling revelation about Hawke that really makes for an exciting development for that sexy wolve's future story. The connection and desire between Judd and Brenna is just scorching! I loved how Brenna wouldn't let Judd ignore what was between them and how even as Judd struggled to stay away, he always sought her out. Every scene with Judd and Brenna carried an intensity that has become a trademark for Singh's work. In actuality each character's interaction from Brenn's brothers and packmates to Judd's niece is just so poignant. The plot moves along fast as we find ourselves in a sort of quest by Brenn and Judd to figure out what her kidnapper 'from Visions of Heat, 2nd book in series' has done to her mind. The political agenda of the Psy council is a continuing engrossing subplot, its like watching a chess game. This story delves further into the Councils underhanded dealings and the changelings counter moves. Singh pulls the reader into the story by creating a graphic world with gripping characters. I hate leaving Singh's world when I've finished her book but I look forward to my next visit! This book is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Along with her previous two books, Slave to Sensation and Visions of Heat.

She just gets better and better

I loved this book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn't want it to end. I read a little bit at a time, savoring it like cheesecake with caramel sauce. I am so glad I discovered Nalini Singh when the first book, Slave to Sensation came out. I have since told everyone I know to buy her books. If I was only able to take a couple of authors' books with me to a desert island, Nalini Singh would be on that list. Congrats to Ms. Singh for breathing new life into the paranormal genre, thank goodness!!!

Ms. Singh has done it again! Her Psy-Changeling series continues to grow, expanding on what the world encompasses. Brenna, the young wolf female introduced in Slave to Sensation has emerged from her horror a changed person. No one seems to understand what she went through. No one except for former Arrow Judd Lauren. He finds himself drawn to the strong female, yet caught within the constraints of his Psy conditioning. When it seems like the threat to Brenna has not decreased, Judd and Brenna must fight for their lives and what has started to spark between them. I have enjoyed this series from the beginning, having stumbled across here on B&N online. After constantly looking and trying to decide if I wanted to try a new author, I finally gave in. Boy am I glad I did! She is an amazing writer and weaves a wonderful tale of love and triumph. Though it is a stand alone title, but it is best enjoyed if the books are read in order: Slave to Sensation, Visions of Heat and Caressed by Ice.

    Sigh (Psy) . . . What a Hero!

Judd Lauren has accepted that Silence conditioning is the only way for him to have a normal life, or as close to normal as he¿ll ever get. His unique Psy talents marked him as an Arrow and the pet assassin, for the Psy Council. Brenna Kincaid, a SnowDancer wolf changeling, believes that the serial killer who tortured her and raped her mind has left behind a legacy of his insanity in the bloody visions of murder she sees in her dreams. And when the dreams become reality, she fears she is losing her mind. It is the cold, emotionless, always in control, Psy, Judd Lauren, who soothes and comforts Brenna as the fallout from Enrique¿s torture threatens her sanity. The stakes are raised when Brenna once again becomes the target of a murderer. Judd had defected and sought refuge for his family with the SnowDancer wolves. While his family have been accepted by the changelings, Judd¿s coldness insures that he is barely tolerated. He is truly an Ice Man with everyone - except Brenna. Brenna is not a quitter, and she¿s not about to give up on Judd now. Brenna is as determined that Judd will break Silence as he is not to. And he has very good reasons for repressing the dangerous emotions she inspires. Each encounter only brings them closer until all that is left is the undeniable fact that these two people belong together - despite their pasts and whatever obstacles are thrown in their path. The old saying about good things and waiting were never more true than with Judd Lauren because a ¿thawed out¿ Ice Man is well worth waiting for. Brenna¿s courage, passion and warmth 'and a few quirky endearments' soon has Judd scrambling to repair his crumbling conditioning. Judd¿s reaction to some of those endearments were both funny and touching at the same time. I loved the ¿Mr. Spock¿ moments sparked by his no-nonsense, very logical and literal take on different situations, and his genuine puzzlement as to why the repairs to his conditioning keep failing - with new chinks appearing almost as fast as he fixes them - was so endearing. It just wasn¿t logical. LOL The Council - all of the alliances and plotting and scheming - especially those featuring Kaleb creates some interesting challenges for the wolves as well as the leopards. While I love the Council snippets, I confess I had to re-read those portions just to keep up with all the maneuvering and dealing and double dealing. It was, at times, hard to keep track of who was in league with whom. The Psy rebellion and the mysterious Ghost in the Net is a terrific addition to this series, and I can`t wait to find out who the Ghost is. Some fascinating history on Kaleb and Hawke is revealed but really raises more questions than it gives answers. Judd and Brenna¿s story was not easy to read because they both have a dark and very painful past, especially Judd, but Caressed By Ice is a terrific book with fully fleshed out characters, a fast-moving plot with many twists and turns as well as some tantalizing surprises. I love the Psy Changeling series, and absolutely fell in love with Judd. I would recommend ¿Caressed By Ice¿ as well as the other two in this series '¿Slave To Sensation¿ and ¿Visions Of Heat¿' to anyone who is looking for something different in the paranormal genre.

I am another ARC winner from the author's website. I love this series. Each book keeps getting better. Judd and Brenna have the best chemistry. I also love the whole Psi-Changeling world and all of its characters. I cannot wait for the next novel in the series.

    terrific Psy-Changeling romantic investigative fantasy

Judd Lauren was a Psy-net Arrow who knew that he was expendable as were all assassins. When he dropped out to insure the safety of his offspring, he expected ironically to be assassinated. Instead the SnowDancer wolf pack welcomed his children and tepidly allowed him to stay with them. When pack member Brenna Kincaid is kidnapped, Judd helps rescue her. Back in the safe environs of the pack, Brenna needs to choose a mate, but her selection is Judd, who feels unworthy of her due to his Psy-net past. When a member is brutally tortured before being killed, Judd recognizes the work as a Psy-net operative sending a message that the pack will die one at a time however, he also assumes a traitor from within had to abet this unknown predator. --- CARESSED BY ICE is a terrific Psy-Changeling romantic investigative fantasy that will temporarily satiate fans of Nalini Singh who will still demand the next tale and send newcomers searching for the back list (see VISIONS OF HEAT). Judd is a fabulous hero who feels unworthy of Brenna and of the mission he must undergo. Readers will enjoy this fine entry in a wonderful saga due to his efforts and that of Brenna to convince him he is the one for her. --- Harriet Klausner

I absolutely loved the book and can't wait for the next. Nalini Singh is a very talented author. I can't wait to see where she's going to lead me next. I'm ready for Hawke and Dorian to have stories. *grin* I'm also ready to learn what kind of talent Sienna has.
