Editorial Reviews

Josh Emmons
"Civic Beauties parodies presidential races with caustic vigor, beating around the Bush like a vulture circling its prey, all the way down to its twin teenage narrators . . . His work is a shining reward for any prospector."
staff reviewer
"Payne has a knack for pace, rhythm, and humor as his characters pause frequently to sing satirical songs in this uproariously funny farce of politics, guns, corporate money, the Christian right, and more."

    Worth the read

Pulled from the same manic-depressive vein as 'Youth in Revolt', Civic Beauties is definitely worth the time it takes to read it.

    One Kewl Book

I think this book was really good. I don't really read too many books but this one was really good. I think it is pretty life like instead of the usual fake stuff you get in a book.
