Overview

Tools that relocate themselves. Shadows glimpsed from the corner of one's eye. The feeling of being watched when no one's there.

It's all in a day's work for the crew renovating Bayview Manor, a dilapidated mansion overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the Olympic Peninsula. Rachael Payne is delighted to be involved in renovating the Manor, and it doesn't hurt that the new owner, Geoffrey Windsor, is exciting in his own right. It doesn't bother her that the mansion's dark history is shrouded in rumor and legend, because she doesn't believe in ghosts.

Geoffrey doesn't share her enthusiasm for his house. From its mysterious origins to the strange current events, he's certain something walks in Bayview Manor, unseen by the human eye. And he wonders if Rachael's faith in God protects her from the forces within the mansion…or blinds her to them.

Meet the Author

Sharon Gerlach was in training to be a ninja, but a dismaying lack of physical grace and balance—not to mention the inability to keep her big mouth shut—ended her ninja career before it had really begun. Now she writes. She doesn’t write about ninjas because that’s obviously a sore subject. But she writes about other really cool things and figures someone else will cover the ninjas. Life’s really not all about ninjas, anyway. Sharon lives on the dry side of the Pacific Northwest with her husband (who must really be fond of her as he hasn’t left her yet despite her ninja failings); two of her three kids (none of whom possess ninja qualities either); and a Border collie who suffers the presence of seven cats. Yes, you guessed it—ninja cats!Subscribe at RunningInkPress.com to be notified of more releases by this author.

    Blank pages

My copy has several chunks of blank pages, has anyone else had this problem? Interesting book, really wanted to read it and finish the series. Archived/unarchived several times and still opens to blank pages. Can't give any stars for this one

    So so

While I enjoyed the first book and did purchase the second my main complaint is this. It took too long for the story to really get going. I came to a point about 300 pages in where I was just frustrated and went to the last 150 pages or so to finish it. I am an avid reader and love long books as long as they keep my interest. But when you pretty much know the who, what, where, when and how of the plot after the first third of the book--well you just skip ahead like I did. I did go back and skim the middle of the book and felt that I really didn't miss anything by skipping it. I also have a problem with the heroine making stupid choices especially when it drives apart her marriage. It reminds me of those insipid romance stories with all the simpering angst when you know they are going to end up together. I still think Kim made the wrong choice because she did not consider her husband nor her children. I understand about miracles however I don't think we should take such HUGE risks and rely on miracles to see us through--rather self-centered. I don't like knowing what is going to happen. I enjoy the mystery and suspense of a tale. I don't like to know what the antagonist(s) are thinking or planning for the same reason. I haven't decided if I will puchase the next book of this series. I really want to because the plot line is solid and interesting but I also don't want the frustration if it is going to have the same issues that this one has. So if you like paranormal and basically knowing what is going on from protagonist and antagonist and being frustrated by the hero/heroine making stupid choices, then this is the book for you. I am sorry because I was SO prepared to love this book.

    Hooked!

Enjoyed Wyndem (sp) House but LOVED Condemned! The only reason it did not get five stars is because the font kept changing a quarter of the way through the book for 100+ pages. Otherwise I loved it and cannot wait for the next book! Any hints as to when it will be out?

    Loved it!

This one was better than the first, as I was reading I thought to myself----this is what makes a good book, one that makes you root for the characters as if they were real!

    Blank pages

Really loved the first book and was looking forward to reading the second one. But I keep finding missing pages! How frustrating! I have to switch back and forth between my Nook and my i-phone, no missing pages there.

CREEPY AT TIMES, OTHER TIMES CONFUSING

If I could give this book three and a half stars I would. For the first third of reading this novel I became very confused, having to go back and re-read parts. See, I haven't read the first book "Wyckam House" yet - So this is not a stand-alone book. There were enough scary parts to keep my interest though. And I liked the fact that the author identifies ghosts as demons and how dangerous/stupid it is to try to contact them. I'll read more from this author.

    Great story telling!!!!!!

What can I say? I am hooked on this Devil's Mansion series. I am glad Sharon Gerlach decided to carry the characters from book 1 over to book 2. Like I've said before, I am not a fan of horror movies or anything that scares me, but I am comfortable reading this series since it gives just the right amount of sexual tension and suspense that keeps you on your toes. I sure hope there is a book 3 in the works about Denny and that it will be released soon. I have read all of Sharon's books and have ennoyed every one of them. Her story telling has the knack of sucking you in and keeping you glued. Definitely a favorite and look forward to more releases.

    Way to creepy

This story is way to creepy. No decent person should get near it. It really possesses you.
