Overview

An Omar Tyree Inc.Novel

Corrupted

This is what happens when our options become limited . . .

Omar Tyree, a New York Times and Essence magazine bestseller, an NAACP Image Award and Phyllis Wheatley Literary Prize winner, and the originator of contemporary “urban classic” novels that have spawned a national wave of so-called “urban/street literature,” hits home again with Corrupted, a timely and innovative serial ebook.

In an era where hundreds of aspiring writers play an anxious game of musical chairs to entice a shrinking group of New-York-based book editors to buy their freshly printed manuscripts and grant them their dreams of becoming nationally published authors, Vincent Biddle reigns.

Coined the man with the “golden eye”, in the past decade, Vincent, a native Bronx, New Yorker, has hand-picked, edited and positioned three dozen bestselling books from a dozen authors, while generating more than two-hundred million dollars in revenue for Williams & Klein Publishing Group.

Vincent can’t miss and can do no wrong, as he rises to a powerful senior editor position with the publisher. But as he rises, so does his ego, creating a reckless and eccentric craving for personal and professional experimentation.

Vincent asks himself, “What will these writers do to become best-sellers and remain in the public limelight?”

With a tight circle of volatile authors in his midst, their every weakness becomes bait to be used against them, while their power-drunk editor assumes an unyielding position of absolute authority. And things fall apart around them.

Corrupted, a serial ebook of aspirations, fame, fortune, sex, shame and scandal, is Omar Tyree’s latest novel, as he uncovers the dark, passionate and sinister side of the American publishing industry. Rated Triple RRR, for Real Raw Reality.

With A Colorful Cast of Characters
Vincent Biddle - Our 40-ish African-American male lead, well-educated, pompous and bisexual, on a power-hungry and erotic trip.

Darlene Krause - A 27-year old mixed blood romance writer from Denver, Colorado, wet behind the ears and star struck. She is eager but cautious, while superbly driven to make it in the publishing industry.

Tom Richberg - A 50-ish vice president of Williams & Klein Publishing. A married, Jewish grandfather, Tom holds bisexual secrets of his own.

Brittney Enis - A 33-year old African-American good girl, editing for the rival New York imprint of Impact Publishing. She fights herself trying extra hard not to follow in the footsteps of Vincent Biddle, her past mentor and fling.

Natalie Cumberland - A 40-ish African-American Christian writer, struggling to write new content, while having money problems and marriage issues with her husband’s embarrassing infidelity and drunkenness.

Susan Randolph - A 25-year old Polish editing assistant, with desires to move up the ladder. She is talented and also terrified of doing anything that may lose her position and professional footing.

Jackson Smith - A 34-year old Italian super writer, who has chosen a pseudonym name to write and live like a recklessly rock star.

Arnold Dutch - The late 60s publishing boss, old-fashioned, straight-forward and still racist around the edges. Arnold has a never ending hunger for the bottom line of profits.

Chelsea Christmas - A 31-year old African-American novelist of erotic fantasies that may or may not be pulled from her actual lifestyle.

DeWayne “Double D” McDonald - A 28-year old African-American author of street lit, who maintains his ties to the hardcore streets, while immersed in the wealth and trappings of life as a successful author.

Lauren Grandeis - An East Indian publicist in her late 30s, who runs with the theater, television and arts crowd of New York. She’s a media magnet who loves every minute of the limelight.

Antonio Martinez - A 30-year old Latino suspense writer, who dates Darlene, while desperately trying to find his own way into the publishing industry.
