In the near future, software expert, Alek Grey, makes a living attacking network firewalls to test their security. When he is arrested after one of his programs is used to infiltrate a digital "Think Tank" called Cyberdrome, he is shocked to learn that his father has become trapped in neural interface with the system, unable to be removed without risk of brain damage.
When an attempted rescue mission by his ex-fiancé goes horribly wrong, trapping her as well, Jake realizes that these events could have been triggered by the emergence of a smarter-than-human intelligence inside Cyberdrome--an intelligence that seems to want out. Alex know of only one way to rescue the people he loves, but will he risk his own life, as well as the rest of humanity, to save them?
