Dark Currents (The Emperor's Edge Book 2)

Second book as good as the first

I read Dark Currents in a day & a half. The story moved along so quickly & I enjoyed seeing the characters unfold & learn more about them. I liked that this book showcased the character 'Books' giving him a chance to be seen. If I understand correctly the author plans to do this for each of the secondary characters in the coming books.

If you haven't read the first novel I would suggest starting there as you may be quite lost without the back story.

If you enjoyed Emporor's Edge you will also like Dark Currents.

Glad I found this new author

I found this author quite by chance and I'm so glad I did! Her characters are intriguing, the story is imaginative, and every minute is enjoyable! Well done! I will continue to read all that she writes.

Totally awsome

The more i read the hard it is to stop reading. I think that this series is one of the best that i have read in awhile. I only can hope that this will become a hard cover copy so that i can add it to my home library.

One of the best sequels I've ever read!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I'm really loving steampunk stories!

This book picks up several months after the events of Emperor's Edge. Amaranthe's team are still getting to know each other, and everyone (except Amaranthe) are still deathly afraid of Sicarius.

The author does a tremendous job of creating unique personalities for her characters. I laughed many times as Amaranthe tried to get Sicarius to suppress his "assassinly" qualities. The fight scenes were well described, the machinery was completely believable, and the world Buroker created was very easy to picture.

I eagerly, and I do mean eagerly, look forward to the next in the series! Great job! Two thumbs (way the hell) up!!

Excellent and funny!

Hooked from the first one and after reading this I bought the rest of the series.

Long but Worth It

I read the first book, and I can't wait to read the second. The little romance under the surface is interesting too.

Series just gets better

Fantastic and that is only one word for it.

I have read and listened to this book at least 5 times. Each time it gets better. Lindsay is a great author. She makes her characters come to life and her fans feel alive.

Still good

First book better but still good writing....story a little slow and im very disappointed at the developing romance....i love books where women dont have to fall in love to justify their lead role...will read next one even tho i suspect romance will try to substitute for an interesting plot

Fantastic storytelling!

Amaranthe, Sicarius and the other members of The Emperor's Edge continue to take us on one exciting adventure after another. The character development and fantastic storytelling makes it impossible to put this book down. The author's humor, wit, and emotions even brought a tear to my eye towards the end of book 2. I can't wait to read what else the author has in store for us in the continuing saga of The Emperor's Edge! I'm so glad I stumbled onto to this authors work. She is now one of my favorites and can really weave a great steam punk story!!!!

A good action adventure fantasy/mystery

It even has a dollop of romance. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Can't Get Enough

Love this series! I wish all writers had the gift to bring such endearing characters to life.

Little slow at first but necessary

The beginning is a little slow, and a bit confusing but all of that is necessary to understand the rest of the book. Plus, it picks up fast. I loved this book too! I recommend this to anyone who liked the first book. They should get these books made into movies!!! :)

Improving an already amazing series!

Everything Buroker did well in the first book, Emperor's Edge, she does even better in Dark Currents. I loved the characters even more. I was laughing throughout the entire book (Buroker has a great sense of humor). The action was just as good and the story just as interesting. I am definitely reading anything else Buroker writes.

Get this book. It will be worth it.
