a terrific tale

In Lafayette, Louisiana, famous stripper Alyssa Devereux owns a popular strip joint, but is also is opening a restaurant. She has persuaded celebrity chef Luc Traverson to serve the first day meals.

Luc has doubts as he had the sexual time of his life with Alyssa three months ago, but fears a repeat performance as he still wants her. Alyssa shocks him with her business skills and her education. However, even more stunning she tells him he is the only man she slept with in several years and would like a repeat performance. She also wants to know what dark secret he hides form her as she senses he is concealing something personal. He is sterile, but wants children while feeling morally her lifestyle rules her out. When she is threatened by local activists, Luc defends her, but will he admit to himself and then to her he loves her?

The third Wicked Lovers heated romance (see Wicked Ties and Decadent) is a terrific tale of a man who keeps humming to himself I'm Not In Love (10 CC) because the adulation of his affection is a stripper. Alyssa proves to him and readers she is much more than a stereotyped stripper as her business acumen is superb; though that is two edged as it simplifies Luc's personal moral dilemma yet also makes the heroine wonderfully complex. Fans will enjoy this deep Bayou Wicked Lovers' saga as Luc loves Alyssa although she is not his the opposite of the image of his paragon mate.

I LOVE Luc!

Out of the three books this is by far my favorite. I love that Luc is the perfect balance of raw/rough/dominant and sweet/considerate/romantic. The same goes for Alyssa. She's such a strong woman but also has a very vulnerable side.

In short, Shayla Black has done it again. Everything about this book is HOT. I highly recommend it. However, make sure to read Wicked Ties and Decadent (in that order) first. Otherwise, you won't really get the depth or story of Luc and Alyssa.

It's About Time for Luc!

It's about time for Luc to have his story and what an unusual woman, Alyssa, he's falling in love with. Talk about two very strong characters coming together. Some of you already know the outline of it from other reviews. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this & Shayla Black has done a great job in giving Luc his due with his heroine. Make sure to read "Decadent" first to be able to fully appreciate the full scope of Luc's character.
There are a lot of erotic romance books out there, but there are very few well written ones. Shayla Black knows how to write a well written erotic romance book and no surprise this is a true keeper. I can't wait to read the next installment of this Wicked Series. Hunter should be an intense one to read.

Great Read!

Couldn't put it down! Had some great hot and steamy scenes!

SPICY!!!

One hot book for women who love great sex and romance all in one. The story of Luc and Alyssa is a page turner for the reader. The love these 2 people shared was powerful it made me happy for Luc. You meet Luc in the book Decadent with Deke and Kimber. Luc and Alyssa have a six hour sex feast,then don't see each other for three months. they both hold things back from one other,which can cause Alyssa her very life and Luc the love of his life. Luc's need for a child and his lack of trust is in the way of him finding true love with Alyssa and the child he claims is not his. With the love they share for each other will it be strong enough to bring them back together. The book Delicious is a great story about Luc who finaly gets his dreams come true. I was very glad for these 2 lovers that are ment to be together for life. Start with Wicked Ties and read them all, and enjoy.

Emotionally charged

I havent read any of the others in the series bc I didnt realize it was part of a series until after I'd purchased it. Thankfully, that wasnt an issue. There were some references to Kimber and Deke (H/h in Decadent) but not enough to be an issue; plus they are necessary because of their past with hero, Luc. I didnt like Luc for most of the book. When an author makes me feel strongly (good or bad) about a character, she has done her job well. This book is full of emotion and suspense. Not a sweet, easy read, but this book reaffirms why I love Shayla Black's work.

Delicious is the third book in the "Wicked Lovers" series, although each one can stand alone. However, you're going to want to read the other two - trust me. And Luc - the hero in Delicious - is one of the main characters in book two of the series - "Decadent".Ok, so I mentioned Luc - well, the Luc we met in Decadent isn't quite the same easygoing chef this time around. Apparently, feeling possessive about something, or someone, makes him a little, um, intense. To put it mildly. And in Delicious, he's feeling possessive about Alyssa. The problem? She doesn't fit in with the perfect little future Luc has planned for himself, so he's furious that he wants her! And men think women are moody - good grief!Alyssa has no such qualms - she wants Luc and makes no bones about it. In fact, she's so determined to have him for her very own that she'll do just about anything to seduce him. How fortuitous that he agreed to help her with the grand opening of her new restaurant (said with tongue firmly in cheek).Shayla Black excels at writing intense emotion, and Delicious is definitely not the exception! It is an emotional roller coaster - from heart-pounding suspense, drool-inducing sexual tension (not to mention the fiercely erotic love scenes) to utter frustration - and everything in between. This book is not "light" - but it is well worth reading. In fact, you'll be missing out on one of the best erotic romance/romantic suspense novels ever, in my opinion, if you don't get this book. These two characters will steal your heart. Alyssa, who has endured more than her fair share of tragedy and trauma - and Luc, who has had a pretty good life, all things considered - but has one big heartbreak that rules him.Larger-than-life characters, realistic plot, intense pacing, witty dialog, ferocious loves scenes - Delicious has all this and more. There's a reason I own every one of Shayla Black's books, and re-read them often. This is one incredibly talented author who writes stories that are always unique and impossible to put down.

Excellent!!!!!

Grips you from the start and doesn't let you go. I found myself really not liking Luc at first, he tooks Alssya's job and used it against her. But gotta love happy endings. The whole series is excellent, A MUST READ!!!!!

Yummy, yummy Luc...

I love Shayla's stories, and I love this series!! I'd take any of the 3 men she's introduced us to, gladly. Luc wants Alyssa - she wants him. Luc denies himself because of Alyssa's stripper status and his fear of his wild, rough, sex all-nighters - she wants him. Luc continues to fight his desires as he helps protect Alyssa from a strange stalker and protesting mad man - she wants him. When Luc can no longer hold himself apart from Alyssa's sexiness, their joining is hot & hurried while he tries desperatly to keep control, barely. But when Luc thinks it's better that he marry someone more "calm/respected" in the business field...Alyssa finally gives up. And it's at that moment that she discovers she's been given a gift that will hopefully have Luc running back into her arms, confessing his all-along honest-to-goodness love for her.

I have read the series twice

I really enjoyed this series of books. I have never read a book twice and this series was a first to me. I enjoyed reading it the second time as much as the first. If you are looking for a book that has twists and turns along with great sex scenes, you will enjoy reading the series.

I truly enjoyed this book.The cover says it all.The characters Luc and Alyssa are also in Decadent which is an excellent book as well.It was a quick read for me.It is pretty fast paced and I didn't want to put it down.Very hot and erotic with very likable characters.A definite keeper.

Shayla Black always provides stories that have depth. You care what happens to the characters and get wrapped up in their story. Great plot, fabulous drama and suspense. I love the fact that her characters in this book have flaws, just like the rest of us.
