Glatt blends extensive detail and background with fast reading. The result is insight into the evolution of evil from the early subtle warning signs to the glaring red flags. We all know people [men and women alike] with certain characteristics like this creep. Makes you always want to trust your instincts. Good stuff.

I believe the entire point of this book, is Robinson's long history of crimes. I feel John Glatt did a great job in revealing how a seemingly "normal" man can be a smooth talking con man bilking thousands of dollars out of imnocent people trying to make a living.
When he revealed the sexual deviant in him, again, that point was well detailed, as Mr. Robinson was a self declared "slavemaster", with a very violent sexual appetite.
While I was engrossed in the book, waiting to learn about the victims, which were not well detailed, as was not the mind of Mr. Robinson, I was thrilled to see what justice was carried out. I don't feel my tim or my money was wasted, as I did enjoy this book.

This book is no more detailed than a story appearing in a newspaper, which appears to be the summation of the author's research. Don't waste your time or money.

The author took way too much time introducing each aspect of the life of this murderer, but did not take us to where the title makes you believe it will take you. I would of wished a little bit more depth into the mind of the killer, as well as more explicit information as to what his victims suffered.

I read a lot of true Crime books and I thought I'd try this one since it happen in Kansas (which is where I am from) but it was a very boring and slow read. Although he killed all these people the books spent more time talking about his bussiness and other crimes and hardly touched on the people who's lifes he took.

Overview
John Edward Robinson was a 56-year-old grandfather from rural Kansas. An entrepreneur and Eagle Scout, he was even honored as 'Man of the Year" at a Kansas City charity. To some of the women he met on the Internet, he was known as Slavemaster--a sexual deviate with a taste for sadomasochistic rituals of extreme domination and torture.
Masquerading as a philanthropist, he promised women money and adventure. For fifteen years, he trawled the Web, snaring unsuspecting women. They were never seen again. But in the summer of 2000, the decomposed remains of two women were discovered in barrels on Robinson's farm, and three ...
