Overview

When a man wakes up inside a cage that is being carried through an underground city, he has no idea where he is or what has happened to him. As Von, a victim of amnesia, is taken to a jail cell to await his fate amongst elves, humans, dwarfs, gnomes, and halflings, he is told he is a member of the Royal Guard of Genisus. It is not long before he is transported to the palace where he meets an impatient king who eventually returns him to his jail cell while deciding his destiny.

As Von's memory slowly returns, he discovers that he is the only one who can protect Drylor-a world that abandoned him-from its greatest evil, his own brother. Through his journey to the truth, Von meets an unlikely group of friends who are willing to sacrifice everything to help him stop his brother Scarlet from annihilating the only world they have ever known.

As Von's past becomes clear and reveals his future, he soon realizes the only way he can end his brother's heartless massacres is to find him and kill him.

    Great book!

I was worried at first since it was only 164 pages long...but after reading it I can't complain. Unlike many authors this one didn't put any unecessary fluff into the story, it didn't have any dull parts that bore you or make you wan't to take a break from reading. The story is fast progressing and amazingly fun to read...there are tons of twists and turns and you could never predict what is coming next...I recommend this book to anyone that likes lord of the rings of any other fantasy series...if you enjoyed reading them you will definately enjoy reading this book.

    I highly recommend this book.

Well I was a little skeptical to read another book by this author since his first one was such a drag, however I am glad that I gave him a second chance. The story line to the book was amazing, seriously it has to have one of the best story lines that I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. The plot twists and turns and you never expect what is coming. The world the author created is vast and amazing, I never expected something like that to come out of him or her.

If all of that wasn't enough, the characters used in the book are astonishing as well, they all mesh perfectly together and there isn't a single hiccup that is unexplained between them. I will definitaly keep an eye on this series as well as this author in the future.

Oh and this book was edited, unlike the last.

    Do NOT Read

This book is one of the worst books I have read in my life. The writing is atrocious. The story is filled with clichés. It seems like something I wrote when I was in middle school. The author really should take a long hard look and go through some serious revisions. Also, he should get an ACTUAL editor instead of self-publishing it. Then he could at least get some good, constructive feedback. This is especially true if he wants to actually have this book stand out. I would give this rating a zero, but B&N does not allow this. To anyone who is considering reading this, save your money, avoid anything published through iUniverse and DO NOT buy this book. You can purchase better fantasy books for the same price.
