Overview

Never marry a stranger...even if he is a drop-dead gorgeous immortal king.

Never pretend to be a princess.

And most importantly...never slip on an ancient wedding ring you know nothing about.

Sarah Larker returns to a cave where her sister disappeared ten years earlier. She walks through a portal and is mistaken for a runaway princess on the run by a dangerous immortal king in medieval times. Her plan is bold as well as daring-become this princess, wed the king, and slip on an ancient wedding ring that will unlock the portal back home. Then find her sister and run as fast as she can out of Dodge. But taking on the identity of Princess Gloria comes along with dangerous consequences; and slipping on the ruby ring comes with an even higher price.

Now The Dame Will Have Her Say: Chrissy Peebles's books are irrepressibly fun to read. Honestly, I sank back in my chair and just let the story take me away for the afternoon; and, then I wanted more. These are e-books that you can have at the touch of a finger, and that makes them as easy as picking up a piece of chocolate, which is how they're going to feel as soon as you start reading the first one.

Meet the Author

Chrissy Peebles, a practicing nurse, has always loved reading and writing fantasy from the earliest age she can remember. She plotted every single twist she could think of during bedtime stories for her children. When her little ones begged for more adventures, she felt confident enough to let her overeager imagination and sense of humor spill out into her first novel. She lives in Ohio with her husband, two young kids, one hamster, three dwarf hamsters and cat. When she's not taking the kids to Little League soccer, basketball, or baseball, she loves to snap photos as her favorite hobby.

Great story; I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! However, I really hate that it ended so abruptly. Apparently the second book picks up right after this one ended, but I won't be buying it. This book felt like it was cut off in the middle of telling a great story to entice more purchases. As for the other review about the Middle Ages language being wrong...this book is set in another dimension which gave the author leeway to write however she wanted without worry of historical accuracy. So, good book, fun story. If it hadn't just ended for no reason I'd continue the series! Hate being disappointed with no conclusion.

Loved it! When Sarah Larker was fourteen, she and her sister had an encounter with a mysterious beast in the woods of California on a camping trip. Her sister, Liz, ran off into the trees and was never seen again, but Sarah never gave up looking for her. Nobody believed Sarah's crazy story, so ten years later, she became a researcher to prove to the world that what she saw was indeed real. On an expedition with a group of thirty researchers, she goes to the exact spot where Liz had disappeared. Her skeptic ex-boyfriend named, Frank, shows up because he's there to write an article for the newspaper. These two are quite funny together, a paranormal researcher and skeptic reporter. Frank wants to pick up right where they last left off and she just wants him to leave. Sarah's team starts to report weird things, and she's sure this is the exact same kind of creature she saw ten years ago. This fantasy adventure is full of humor and romance, and you don't know if she'll end up with her ex-boyfriend, Frank or the King. A Great read and I highly recommended it. I'm so looking forward to the sequel.

The other reviewers weren't kidding when they said this book ends abruptly!  It doesn't even end on a cliffhanger, it just cuts off at the end of a chapter.  I did enjoy the world building, and I liked the fact that it keeps you guessing about which guy will get the girl, but I didn't enjoy this book enough to spend $3.75 to see how it ends.  The characters were rather flat, and even though it was a fantasy (which I love), there were too many details that just didn't make sense.  (An Immortal race with an aging, dying king???  An Immortal protagonist with the ability to self-heal from mortal wounds worried  about being captured and killed???)  Overall, I'd say this was an enjoyable read, just be warned that if you want to find out what happens, you will need to purchase the second half.

For a book that was free it was worth reading. I liked the time travel aspect of it. Wish there had been more development between Sarah and Vince. To be honest; worth reading for free but not sure what I think of it.

Engaging! I have read all the books in this series up to book 5.  I have to say book 1 and 2 are the only two worth reading.  The first book starts off strong with an engaging and feisty heroine.  She's witty, independent and the humor and sarcasm in the book make it a fun read.  There is a lot of excitement as Sarah and her colleagues flee for their lives in search of two things, Sarah's sister and a way to get back home without getting killed first.  Book two continues with the adventure but the mistakes and errors start to detract a bit from the story. By book 3 as well as 4 and 5 you will be ready to stick your in a blender running at full speed.  Sarah and her sister become silly beyond reason, the husbands of the two, especially Sarah's are nothing more than eye candy that continually echo the same love phrases over and over every other paragraph.  A new type of immortal is introduced and more interaction and dialogue with them could have made the last few books pretty interesting.  But the author chose to make the main characters simpering idiots instead.  As usual with this author, the story starts off with one set of facts, then changes to suite whatever.  Frankly I don't understand, readers are intelligent beings.  If we can take the time to read the author's work, she should be giving us her best effort.  Unfortunately, she's not alone in the shoddy work being thrust upon us these days. Read book 1 and 2 they are very good.  Precede onto the rest at the peril of your sanity and wallet.

EVERYONE in this books SMIRKS. The heroine isn't likable. Nor is Frank, one of the men she may someday chose between. I read the entire book. Book 1 in a series. It should be part 1 of book one as NOTHING is resolved. The best thing about this book was the fact that it was free.

It was written amazingly. The way she twisted the bigfoot into it, brilliant. I love the way Sarah speaks out her mind <3. I am definitely buying the secomd book, cannot wait to find out what happens between Sarah and Victor.

This series is really good. Though I hate that it skips from book 1 to 6 and 7.

So many things about this book threw me for a loop. I mean she couldn't just stick to midevil and a love triangle thing going on but bigfoot, shapeshifters and abrupt endings too? And the best part is that Victor is part of the, wait for it, Cardashian court!! I thought that was one of the funniest parts of the book. I mean dont get me wrong it was a cute, quick read but i just expected things to go together... i dont know....better?

This book is for YA. It was okay. Sarah investigates bigfoots, and finds their cave which leads to another universe, in which she is mistaken for a princess, and marries a king, all while trying to find her sister and her way back home w/her friends. *****while parts of it were humorous, the characters didn't have a lot of depth and the plot was very predictable. Young readers I think will enjoy this. GL to Ms Peebles!
