Or Kill Trying

Emma's right to be scared. Even as she finds new friends and an unexpected ally in the rugged, compelling Sheriff Donnelly, her old life is waiting to intrude. Because the obsession that drove her from New Orleans will track her down anywhere, even a place as remote as this. And this time, there will be nowhere left to run. . .

    Terrific read

I've read several Susan Andersen's novels, and so far this is my favorite. Absorbing plot hooks you in immediately. Interesting characters you quickly care about. Great love story. The three year old is a hoot! I found myself laughing and thinking to myself this is a GREAT book! READ IT!!! :)

This is my favorite of her books, I have read it many times in paper back, and now have purchased it on nook and have just finished reading it again. Loved the kid, laughed out loud many times--what a hoot!

    Disappointing editing

Someone, somewhere needs to do some editing this had so many errors that it was hard to follow the story, at times. I usually like this author but this wasn't one of her strongest stories. Wish I hadn't believed some of the reviews.

    I Also Recommend:

    Wonderful book

Loved the story, I love Susan Andersen, but the the e-book just has so many errors it made it hard to read at times. I wish BN would fix their e-books, it's not fair that we pay 5-12 dollars for a book that has huge errors.

Makes you see the King in a new light.

All of the other reviews I've just read are on the money. But I have to add that her supporting charactors are the greatest. This style of writing makes you feel like your there. I just love Elvis, he and Emma and Gracy are just great. Boy, does Gracie have his number! When the cubards are bare at my house(for new books)I can pick up one of Ms Andersons and re-read.

    BEAUTY gets her BEAST!

I had doubts when I first purchased this book. After the first few pages I was hooked. I read it in one sitting. The story of Emma, a beautiful woman with a 3-year old child is on the run from someone so obsessed with her, he was willing to kill to have her all to himself, and Elvis, 6'6' of pure man. Elvis has been injured by a car bomb, which left him disfigured and missing half an arm. When Emma and Elvis meet the sparks of attraction are purely sensual. She sees no ugliness or disfigurement, all she sees is a man with the ability to 'curl her toes', one sexy man. Elvisis deeply attracted to Emma but feels there is no hope of her ever loving someone that looks like him. When Emma's little girl, Gracie, sees Elvis for the first time, she pats his face and kisses his 'owie' to make it better and Elvis knows that he can lose his heart, not only to the mother but the child as well. When trouble catches up with Emma, Elvis does everything he can to protect her and Gracie. The relationship and romance between Emma and Elvis sizzles to one you will never forget. The altercation between Emma and the man from her past brings a climax to the story you will not want to miss or will soon forget. This book is a must read for anyone who ever thought they could never find love. It truly tells us that love is blind. MUST READ!

Love is not blind just pure in heart

I have read other Susan Anderson novels and enjoyed them greatly, but this one is by far the best and the most enjoyable. It tuggs at your heart and makes you understand that love is not blind at all just very pure. It is also a very sexy novel and I suggest you give it your undivided attention. Excellent book

    Great Read

The heroine lost BOTH her brother and husband. She thought she'd found a father like friend but learning that he had been secretly taping her and her 3yr old daughter for years, she goes on the run to escape him and his powerful connections. Her car breaks down in the hero's town. With his mother's past and his loss of a hand, he keeps to himself. Being the town sheriff and thinking she's hiding something; he keeps a watch on her. I really enjoyed this book for the well done characters, the story, and the element of danger.
