I could rate something without having to write a review. Good story, good enough that i am reading the other one in the series now.

Good storyline and characters. Would have been nice if there was an indication of which book came first so you can read 'em in sequence.

This novella is the first in an ongoing series. It is quite entertaining on its own, but also serves as an introduction of the characters and ideas that continue to develop as the plot thickens. The second book, "Dobhriathar," further explores the governor who ran away from her space colony (Caitlin). These books combine fast-paced, intricately woven plots with intelligent sci-fi themes that are both fascinating and horrifying. Pierce is sort of like Orson Scott Card meets H.P. Lovecraft. Great series so far, and I look forward to reading more!

This novella goes light on backstory but sets up just enough to portray a compelling universe. The lead protagonist is a bit juvenile, but it stops just short of being annoying. Decent sci-fi young adult fiction.

I'm not a big fan of the series. It was nicely written,I guess I'm not into the subject if it all. I think it would a nice subject for people that like reading this stuff.
