Overview

From ritzy Beverly Hills to posh London, bad-boy diamond-dealing brothers break, and mend, a trail of hearts . . .

All Scarlett Drummond Murray ever wanted was to leave a mark on the diamond industry, with her dazzling one-of-a kind designs. But the ruthless side of the business threatens to seduce her. And that’s before she meets the Meyer brothers, the sexier-than-sin diamond dealers.

Jake Meyer is quickly making a name for himself among the who’s who of Hollywood — especially as his name drops from the lips of his latest conquests. But when he meets Scarlett, a woman as stunningly beautiful as the gems she works with, he may be ready to put his wild days behind him.

Meanwhile, Danny Meyer falls for the wife of his gem-trading rival, a man with a personal vendetta. Now Danny will have to protect the one woman he can’t live without.

From blinged-out boardrooms to dangerous diamond districts, one woman is determined to create a glittering masterpiece — and master the glamour and greed that go along with it.

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Set against the glamorous, dangerous world of the diamond industry, this epic romance is part soap opera and part thriller. Bagshawe (Scandalous) takes readers around the world with four people who cross ruthless diamond mine owner Brogan O’Donnell. Jewelry designer Scarlett Murray wants him to clean up his act and stop exploiting his workers; Brogan’s wife, Diana, wants to be loved and have a child; and diamond-merchant brothers Jake and Danny Meyer want Scarlett and Diana, respectively. What results is a series of torrid affairs and professional setbacks and accomplishments, infused with dramatic twists and heartfelt revelations. The convoluted plot, which spans years and continents, burns slowly. While the main characters are likable enough, the rampant racism, sexism, and homophobia espoused by the antagonists and secondary characters makes them both less sympathetic and less interesting. Agents: Alexandra Machinist and Luke Janklow, Janklow & Nesbit Associates. (Apr.)
