Very entertaining read, and a major improvement over the first book.
Still has some grammar/formatting errors and some sentences and situations that are just awkward, but overall it is pretty good. I am looking forward to third book and would definitely recommend this series to anyone who is a fan of sci-fi.

First the book. The story flows nicely with the Admiral arriving at Anvil and getting involved with the space station, somewhat similar to book one but adding a civilian component. Lots of character development and that seemed to be the primary focus of the 2nd book in the series. Some forward plot movement that probably could have gone a bit further than where it left off. Overall, an enjoyable read and I am looking forward to the third book in the series.
2nd - formatting needs some work. I could not get the font small enough in my NOOK for a decent number of liens per page. Doesn't detract from the story but an issue that should be fixed.

The one thing I dislike about this book are the lectures the characters give during the classes in the book. Other than that truly enjoyed it.

Over all very good story and loaded with nice detail. Looking forward to seeing how the main character continues to rebuild the past. At the end of the book author states next book is coming soon. That was almost a year ago Chris Hechtl needs to work on his definition of soon.

I've read both books in this series. This book does show improvements from the first one, grammer has been worked on, there's more character development, and hopefully if Chris follows through with it, a lot of foreshadow for the next book. I like that this series gives a lot of details to repairs and fixing things, it's an aspect of sci-fi that I don't see a lot of and one that I look for in books. I think that it is a nitch that many may not appreciate and think that it happens too much in the book but I hope the author ignores those comments and keeps at it, it is much appreciated. I give this book a 4 star but if a bit more was put into working on the grammer and in how scenes change, it could get a 5. Also something that would be immensely appreciated would be for the author to have a website or blog so I can keep up with how the new books are coming along :) I am waiting very unpatiently for Destiny's Choice.
