Kalissa Bradenton isn't your average coffee shop owner. Born to an elite witch bloodline with a rare genetic mutation, she's a Divinity on a mission. Her investigation into the deaths of her parents sends her straight into the middle of an ancient war between witches and demons. After a near-fatal accident, a childhood friend, Ayden Daniels, comes to her aid and triggers visions of a past she doesn't remember, sparking an old flame and new desires. With their history slowly becoming clearer, Kalissa eagerly sets her sights on mending Ayden's heart and gaining his trust-until a ghost from her past returns to claim her as his demonic mate.

While investigating a series of Divinity murders, Ayden, the new sheriff of Maxville and grandson of the oldest living Divinity, comes face-to-face with the one woman he hopes to have little to no contact with. Old pain rises instantly and is quickly followed by anger and resentment. Through his rare power of adaptability, however, he learns that things from his past may not be what they seem. Hope fills his broken heart, and determination pushes him to do whatever it takes to win Kalissa once more before he loses her forever.

Together, they must find the strength to mend their tattered souls and learn to love again, while fighting an evil out to destroy the world.

Forgotten Visions is book one in The Divinities series. It's a magical introduction. We are introduced to several magical characters and creatures; witches, divinities, and demons. In this first installment we center around the murders that are happening in the magical community and who the divinities are. Ayden and Kalissa knew each other a long time ago, but something happened to make Kalissa forget how important Ayden is to her. With that; their lives go in different directions and both have been hurt, emotionally. They must mend each others souls and learn to love again while navigating an evil bent on destroying the world and them. Unrequited love is painful and yet the author did a great job on pulling these two together and building the romance to where they both remembered, forgave, and loved again. We get a lot of information in this first book, building of the world, war, and different characters. Which sets us up for more magical goodness. Their is also a mystery on who is killing off the divinities that are out in the world and why are they doing it? We learn a lot here. Magic is real and alive. Those that have the power must band together to protect the world from an ongoing threat. It was a good start and introduction to The Divinities series. I’m curious to see where things go and who might find their magical partner next. Rated: 3 Stars *Disclaimer: I received a complimentary ARC copy provided by Barclay Publicity via NetGalley with the sole purpose of an honest review. All thoughts, comments and ratings are my own.

Forgotten Visions is the first book in the Divinities series. Kalissa and Ayden are divinities with rare powers. They are meant to be life partners, unfortunately, Kalissa does not have any memories of falling in love with Ayden. After the murder of Kalissa and her twin, Khloe’s parents they begin looking for clues. Ayden, the town sheriff, is also investigating and when Kalissa is runoff the road he comes to her aid and together they continue the investigation. I loved the book; however, I had difficulty getting started. Kalissa just didn’t inspire me. When the Divinities came together, I found myself pulled into the story wanting to know how they would all be affected by the actions of Demetrius and his demons. And when Kalissa’s memories started to return her persona shifted and I was finally pulled into her and Ayden’s story. I look forward to reading book 2! I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This book throws you into a world where magickin (supernatural people- from witches to werewolves to trolls) live in the current day. Divinite (think very powerful witch- nearly approaching goddess territory) twin sisters Kalissa are crushed when their parents were killed in what seems to be a string of deaths of high-ranking Divinites. Kalissa has to get to the bottom of what has happened in order to preserve their culture, way of life, and lives. Ayden Daniels, the town sheriff, comes to her aid and sparks fly. Unfortunately, Kalissa was in an abusive relationship that she barely even remembers and hasn't been interested in romance/men since. Poor Ayden has known that Kalissa was his eternal mate since they were teenagers and already lost her once. Is he willing to put himself out there again? And for that matter, can Kalissa move past something she doesn't even remember? I enjoyed the world that the author immersed the reader in, with a mix of different mythologies and species, so to speak. This is the first book in a new series, so it was a little burdened with new characters/words/powers/etc. to set up the world for the whole series. That being said, I genuinely enjoyed learning about the world and was drawn into Kalissa and Ayden's story quickly. The characters were likable, and their dialogue and chemistry flowed naturally. Even the background characters were interesting, and it seems fairly obvious that they will become the focus of future books in the series (which means we will see Kalissa and Ayden again- love when that happens in a series). I was provided an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. This was the first of Ms. Davis's books that I've had the privilege of reading, and it won't be the last.

This is a great book; this is the first book in the Divinities series written by Lia Davis. Kalissa Bradenton owns a coffee shop in Maxville, Florida. She was also from and elite witch bloodline with a rare genetic mutation, she's a Divinity on a mission. When childhood friend Ayden Daniels comes to her aid after an almost fatal accident, visions of a past she doesn't remember sparks an old flame and new desires. Ayden, the new Sheriff of Maxville and grandson of the oldest living Divinity, is investigating a series of Divinity killings. When he comes face-to-face with the one woman he hopes to have little to no contact with, old pain rises, quickly followed by anger and resentment. Through his rare power of adaptability, he learns actions from the past may not be what they seem. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

I enjoyed the first book in this series which features magical folk (magickin) each with a special "talent" or power, called Divinites, magical creatures, and goddesses. Kalissa is a witch and a Divinity who is searching for reasons why her parents were killed, and who might have done it. Ayden is an old friend and fellow Divinity who joins her on her quest. Magic and mayhem and murder ensues as they get closer to the truth. Will they survive their quest? What about the feelings they have for each other? Are they destined to be together? Read this book and answer these questions for yourself. *Gifted copy

Kalissa and her sister Khloe had lost there parents in a car accident or was it ! They felt like they were being watched but tried to continue with there lives. After being told by the police to stay out of the investigation of the accident they found papers inside a box in there parents office. Kalissa had to check it out . Ayden had to go pick up Kalissa after she was ran off the road believing the accident was on purpose. He did not want to since she broke his heart when they were 17. As divinities they were finding out they had a job to do. The quest took them through a lot and a lot of emotions. As they continue on the quest they get stronger in there powers and learn more about each other. Lia Davis has a way of spinning her books I could not put the book down.

This passionate love story between two special witches made me stay up way past bedtime simply because I just had to know! ( on a side bar....I really want my own Teddy Bear!) The beautifully creative writing brought everything to life, from characters to scenery etc. Not only is this a standalone, this story still managed to make you want to read more of their tale! A five star PNR easily! Once again Ms. davis does not disappoint her fans! I was given a free ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I'm a big fan of paranormal romances, and I love reading stories by new-to-me authors. Lia Davis, though, isn't quite a new-to-me author.....but she is. I've been following her for quite sometime now, and joined her street team long ago, but this is the first book by her that I have read. It's the first book in her Divinities series, and what a rockin' start it is! Ms. Davis' parnormal elements are stunning and her characters are complex and real-to-life. The plot line is breath taking and I was completely captivated from first page to last. I really loved Kalissa's character. She was brilliantly created with a fierce independent nature. Her "third" eye, or visions, abilities were amazing! I would love to be able to have visions the way she does. Kalissa's parents died in an accident, but Kalissa saw who caused it after having a dream and rushing to the scene. Now she needs to find out why they did it and who, exactly, that person was. But, as she seeks the answers she needs after finding a mysterious letter from her mother, she nearly dies. Untder the watchful eye of the sexy new Maxville sheriff, her search just got more complicated. Something's intimately familiar about him, even though she's known him since childhood. There's more to the story, and she's determined to figure it all out. But,there's a problem. Demons don't want her to. Ayden is one hot cop! I adored his character! He's fiercely protective of Kalissa when he realizes she's been in an accident. But there's just one tiny problem. She tore his heart out and stomped all over it when they were teenagers and she left him for someone else. He has a right to be upset at her....or does he? Determined to finish what their parents started in seeking out the Sinew and keeping away from the demons and the Dark Divine, he tries to keep his heart in tact. But, as he learns more of the story, both from Kalissa and his cousin Zach, something's not adding up. He may just get his second chance at love with his eternal mate...that is, if the demons don't prevail first. Watching Ayden protect both Kalissa and his heart was awesome! The attraction between them was super hot and sizzling! There were so many times I wanted to trade places with Kalissa :-). These characters were absolutely perfect for their roles and really stole my heart. This 5 Book worthy start to Ms. Davis' new series is deserving of more than just a rating. It's deserving of hats-off praises, highest recommendations, being read again and again. It's filled with suspenseful twists, fantastic passion, magic that will captivate you and an ending that will drop your jaw and leave you ready for book 2 instantly! I can't wait until Kalissa's twin's story is told in Death's Storm, releasing in November 2012! *This review is based on a complimentary copy received in exchange for honest opinion*

Forgotten Visions by Lia Davis is a wonderfully thought out and developed story world where magic is not just real, but known. Sadly, humans being our ‘wonderful’ selves are prone to prejudice even in her world. But, and it’s a big one, lol. . . The new sheriff and a deputy are Divinities and set out to help unravel the mystery surrounding the deaths of other Divinities (like Kalissa and Khloe’s parents). Lia’s writing draws you in from page one and keeps you there until the very last word. Her characters make you care about them as if they were people you might live near or work with. Ayden is meant for Kalissa, but 15 years ago they parted thanks to a new male entering her life. Now Ayden is back, trying to keep the other Divinities alive, and win her heart again, but what happens when her demonic ex returns from the dead? . . . If you love romance with mystery and action, this is a MUST read! If you love magic with a heart, the grab a copy of Forgotten Visions and pray that book 2 comes along soon because you will fall in love with the character and world. *Publisher provided eARC in exchange for honest review.

I enjoyed this book, overall At times though, it felt really slow reading. Kalissa and Ayden are great characters, and I am glad they were able to work things out. Khole, wow what a "handful" There is actually lots going on in this story, which is good, but its not overwhelming. Looking forward to reading book 2 *I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

I really like this story. It’s the beginning to a new PNR series. This book has everything from gods to demon, family, friendship, love and betrayal. Love the spin on witches and the different types of power. This book starts out with you wanting more as well and it has a “I’ve got to finish this chapter before bed!” story. I love to connection between the twins, Khole and Kalissa, the closeness and love. I was a little confused as to why close family and friends didn’t say anything to Kalissa’s about her sudden memory loss. But all in all a great read and I am looking forward to the next in the series. If you like supernatural stories and mystery this is a great read for you! I received an ARC for my honest review
