Can't. Stop. Reading!!! Love it! Great description, strong characters, excellent!
-The author of Dauntless (who still has few name ideas... Also, Jalock Ferinzer, Terrin Rinzer! :) Simiular, but no biggy! Cool! Would you mind if one of my characters is named Ep? Like Cora's cat?)

Chapter Six ~
Jalock took my hand and pulled me toward and small, but menacing, black building that stood on the edge of the square. I shivered slightly, squeazing his hand.
In front of the building was a small group of people. Most of them were kids, like us, but two were adults. One, a tall man with a mustache and a stiff uniform, strode over. He looked at us coldly and said,
"Names?"
"I'm Jalock Ferinzer." He said evenly.
"My name is Alora Swyneth." I answered when the man turned to me.
"Hmph." He grunted, then stalked back over to -
"Logas?" I said in suprise.
Logas turned to look at me, and half smiled before the man grabbed him and shoved him away from the rest of the group. I frowned, glaring at the man.
He looked coldly back, and I turned away. Jalock was talking with one of the other kids, a pretty blonde girl with ice blue eyes. "Hey Lily." I said.
The girl smiled. "Hi Alora." She said in a dreamy voice. "Oh!" She said, turning around. Lily twirled her blonde hair, batting her long eyelashes as another walked up.
He was tall, muscular, with olive skin, greasy black hair, cold black eyes, and an ugly look on her face.
"Hi." Lily purred.
He grunted in response.
"Who are you?" I asked, having never seen him before.
"I'm Jorlan." He snapped angrily at me. Then, taking Lily's small hand in his, he led her away with a last evil glare at me and Jalock.
"I don't like the looks of him." I muttered. The other kids weren't as bad. There was a fat boy who was chewing noisily on gum. His striped gray shirt was much to small, and his round belly was sticking out. Also there was a red hairred girl with green eyes and a firey temper. When the fat boy got too close, she started yelling at him and the tall man had to break it up. I dodged out of the way, and headed for Logas.
"What are you doing here?" I said under my breath. "Why won't that man leave you alone."
"He is making sure I don't leave." Logas whispered back.
"You mean he's forcing you to stay here?"
He nodded, brown eyes grim.
"Woah, they must be desperate."
"They are." He replied. "Jagsly's forces are growing, and theirs are dwindling."
"But why would someone fight if they were forced to?"
At that moment, our conversation was interrupted as the man stalked back over. He shooed me towards the other kids, mustache twitching.
I sighed, looking around for Jalock.
At that moment, the second of the two adults waved her hands and said, "Attention!" The group fell silent.
The lady had dark brown hair, bronze skin, dark eyes, and a lot of makeup. "You can call me Ms. Prim." She said in a prickly voice. "That's Mr. Brown, and we shall be escorting you to..." She didn't finish her scentance, just waved her hand and said, "Follow me."
She opened the doors to the small building, beckoning for us to enter. I peered inside.
It was pitch black. Jorlan was the first to enter, closely followed by Lily. Then came the red hairred girl, then the fat boy. Jalock stepped through the door. I took a breath, and then followed.
The heavy footsteps from behind told me that Mr. Brown had entered, and Logas was no doubt with him.
Our footsteps echoed in the dark building, and I wondered where in the world we were and where in the world we were going.
Suddenly, a bright yellow light appeared before us. It seemed to be some sort of doorway.
Ms. Prim fixed us in her dark gaze and said,
"Please step inside."
