Overview

Katharine Geryon is living the life her family name has dictated, and why not? After all, it has given her a good job in the family company and a fine life with all the things she should want. But all that changes as increasingly disturbing events begin to occur: soot stains on the carpet, glimpses of strange black animals, and cryptic messages written on her bathroom mirror. Baffled and afraid, Katharine begins to doubt her own sanity.

At the same time, two charismatic men enter her life: Allistair, her new assistant at work, and Zachary, a well-heeled neighbor who just moved into her building. Katharine soon finds each of them inextricably entangled in her affairs. As her life becomes stranger and her dreams more terrifying, she realizes neither man is what he seems and that she's caught in something far beyond her own comprehension. For the first time, she must reach beyond her own boundaries. There Katharine forges her first true friendship with Margot, a librarian who helps her discover what these men really are, why she's drawn to them, and what they want with her.

The answer places Katharine in the middle of a fierce battle that forces her to decide between the two men fighting for her soul.

In the end, only one can be saved, but all three will be judged.

    Just OK

I thought the book started off really slow. I kept expecting the story to get more exciting as I read on. Can't complain since it was free. Only read it if you're bored.

    Not your average Paranormal Romance!

God's Eye introduces us to Katherine Geryon, a woman who has lived what some would call an easy life. Growing up in an affluent family with a controlling and emotionally absent father and a mother who taught her that appearances are everything, Katherine simply floated through life, turning a blind eye to what she did not want to see and letting all of her decisions be made by others. Working in her father's company, she was viewed with envy and distrust by most people and she never put forth the effort to make any real connections or to cause people to view her as anything more than she appeared. When two gorgeous and charismatic men suddenly appeared in her life during the same time that unexplained phenomenon began happening in her home, suddenly she had no choice than to open her eyes and notice the things happening around her. Finding herself in an emotionally charged sexual relationship with both of them, Katherine knew that eventually she would have to choose, and she was slowly starting to become aware of what making the wrong choice might cost her. It's difficult to put my finger on the genre that God's Eye would fit into because there are elements of so many. I would call it a Paranormal Psychological Fantasy Thriller with elements of steamy romance. The plot wound slowly around these characters, building suspense and tension as I tried to figure out which was angel and which was demon and which would Katherine choose in the end. Ultimately, God's Eye was about the far-reaching results of the choices that we make every day. It's important that each person is aware that our decisions can have consequences outside of ourselves and that when we make a choice that affects others we have to acknowledge and own it. Only with awareness and accountability can we begin to change the way we think and act. When we begin to open our eyes, our mind, and our heart, we can begin to change both our own world as well as have a positive effect on the world at large, even in small ways. Katherine's choice seemed to be between Angel and Demon, good or evil, but as shown in the book, sometimes its hard to determine which is which. Katherine had to look at the ripple effect of what first appeared to be small, unimportant choices but even when her eyes began to see, she was still unsure which was the right path for her to take. I want to take a minute to mention that Alistair and Zachary will probably appeal to those who love Paranormal Romance. This one does not lack in the "steamy love scenes with hot supernatural guys" department. I was immediately drawn to Alistair because it seemed that his character had more depth than Zachary, but I'm sure others will find Zachary's alpha-ness highly attractive. Overall, God's Eye is a book I think many people will enjoy. Once you get past the frighteningly awesome cover, you'll see that this story goes much deeper than your average angel/demon paranormal romance. And the image on the cover will make sense in the context of the story. I would recommend God's Eye to anyone who enjoys paranormal romance, horror, or psychological thrillers.

    paranormal romantic novel

Reviewed by Lynn F. for Readers Favorite

"Gods Eye" by A.J. Scudiere is a paranormal romantic novel that will take the reader to the dark side of evil with fallen angels and demons. The plot revolves around Katharine Geryon, born with a silver spoon in her mouth so to speak. Since she is the only child of a prominent business owner, one day the Geryon and Light investment company would all belong to Katharine. But when events start happening in her life she begins to question her own sanity and the validity of her job. When two men come into her life, Zachary and Allistair, things start happening: strange writing on her mirror, animals in her home, black soot on her carpets and both men striving for her attention.

Enter good and evil, dark and light, and Katharine is about to have her eyes open to both; but which is which? Both tell a good story. Whom will she choose to follow? Who can she believe?

When I first viewed the cover of the book I wondered to myself what I would be reading, but I found this book to be very captivating. As I read this book I viewed it with a Christian attitude because we waver between good and evil and the falter in the choices we make as to which one to follow. I would hesitate to call this a romantic novel, but more of a psychological thriller. The book has many twists and turns throughout and is full of intrigue and mystery. I myself did not know which one was from the light side and who was of the dark. I found myself switching back and forth between Zachary and Allistair and till the end of the book I did not know. There was a little bit more sexual activity in the romance part of the book but it is not erotic. However, I would not recommend it for a teenager to read. For those that like a good paranormal, psychological thriller I think you will find this book very hard to put down.

    Mystery and romance with supernatural

Katharine Geryon was raised to follow in father's steps and continue the legacay of Light & Geryon, an investment firm that made money hand over fist. While she blindly walked through her days, she was oblivious to the battle about to be waged for her life.

Two men enter her life simultaneously, Zachary Andras and Allistair West, and throw her well-ordered life into a tailspin. Even though she is drawn to both, she knows that something is wrong.

After too many odd happenings in her life at home, she begins to expect 'something' to happen. When the words begin to appear on the mirror, she seeks the assistant of the head librarian at the local library. With Margot's help, they decifer not only the messages left, but also who (or what) is vying for life.

    ---------------------------------

This book is so well-written that I still couldn't figure out who was the good guy and who wasn't. A.J. Scudiere has written a masterpiece in God's Eye. Snatch this book as soon as possible and curl up for a great read!

My rating: 4 1/2 out of 5 stars

Why 4 1/2 you ask? There were a few scenes that were a bit too descriptive in the romance-side and a limited number of profanity. Because of this, I am not recommending this to my teenagers to read.

    an "eye-opening" paranormal romantic thriller

What could be more invasive than the horror of having your mind invaded, your home intruded upon, and your world suddenly turned into a very different place? What if you began to see things that others couldn't see, and you began to behave in ways far different from your normal behavior? Katharine Geryon is a daughter of privilege, trained as a corporate executive in her father's successful investment firm. All her life, she has known her place, her future seemingly secure and etched in stone. Her life's foundation is shaken to the core when she begins to have other-worldly visitors in the form of strange animals which appear in her apartment and leave piles of soot behind when they vanish. Strange messages in Latin are left on her bathroom mirror, giving her the feeling that no part of life is without vulnerability. In "God's Eye", A.J. Scudiere skillfully weaves a tale of a woman's struggle to survive as a demon and an angel war with each other over the conquest of her very soul. Good or evil? Who's the good guy and who's the devil? Both so handsomely packaged and so seductively charming--how to tell which one to choose? It becomes very clear to Katharine that she must make a choice. A life-altering choice with long-lasting effects, not just for her life, but for the lives of many others. The author fleshes out the paranormal thriller story line with passion and depth and interesting, intriguing cultural and business insights. She gives us a heroine to root for as we watch Katharine's character growth while the ground under her feet turns to shifting sand. The resolution is unexpected and ultimately satisfying. I very much look forward to reading more involving works from the imagination of A.J. Scudiere!

    "GOD'S EYE" (REVIEW)

    "GOD'S EYE" BY A.J. SCUDIERE

Katherine Geryon is a wealthy woman with an eye for the family business. For some reason she has become the prime target for a battle between an angel and a demon. With her choice being the ultimate prize they wage war on the battlefield of her heart. In the meantime Katherine undergoes some of the most horrific manifestations she's ever seen and begins to think she's losing her mind.

This story shows the very real struggle, between good and evil and the turmoil a person goes through when making a choice that could damn or save their soul. A.J. Scudiere's writing is sharp and detailed making this a read you will enjoy.
I give this book 4 Ravens!

What choice is the right choice?

    Description:
Katharine Geryon comes from money, runs the family business, and seems to have the perfect life with everything she'd ever need, until she begins experiencing strange and horrific events she has no control over. She feels watched and begins seeing things that couldn't possibly exist, strange messages in her apartment and dark creatures hiding in the shadows. This is coupled with the arrival of two mysterious and alluring men, Allistair and Zachary, who may have their own motives for staying by her side. Who can she trust? And when she's pushed to her breaking point, will she be able to make the right choice and save her soul?

    Review:
Firstly, I have to acknowledge the cover art by Ruke Studios; it is beautifully unsettling and creepy, yet it drew me to the book. Secondly, I have to applaud A.J. Scudiere on another complex and amazing read that kept me up past 3am. After reading A.J. Scudiere's Resonance and Vengeance, I was excited to see if God's Eye could top them; and it definitely did. There are only three primary characters, Katharine, Allistair, and Zachary, all of which are thoroughly developed and unique as individuals, even though most of the thoughts and dialogue center around Katharine. I found her to be strong, intelligent, and refreshingly bold, in contrast to other female characters. I felt there could have been a little bit more romance involved, but I liked how the main focus was on Katharine's choice, and how her decision could change more than just her own life. The theme was very apparent, but the ending was not foreshadowed; I thought it was a great page-turner and that, overall, it was excellent. (I got a fair amount of goosebumps too). I recommend God's Eye to anyone who loves a book they won't want to put down!

    Rating: On the Run (4.5/5)

    Fun read

With a mixture of horror, love and mystery, this book introduces us to a very different idea of angels and demons. The unique storyline makes it an interesting read for all paranormal lovers.
The novel has a wonderful beginning, taking the reader inside the pages immediately and keeping the interest level high as we are introduced to the main characters, Zachary, Allistair and Katharine. The suspense is handled well, allowing us just enough information to be a bit ahead of Katharine, but not know exactly what is going on yet. As the novel moves into the middle section, it slows down a bit, sometimes becoming a tad dull, as we read about the same things happening throughout the night: the soot stains, the writing on the bathroom mirror, and the strange animals that suddenly appear. It picks up as the end nears, and doesn't let go until the last word. Not bad for a paranormal book of this length.
The characters are fully developed, the mixture of real qualities giving the demon and the angel believable aspects to their personalities. I do wish, however, that the author had explained a bit more why the two of them were so infatuated with our heroine. What propelled them to make the wager they did? Katharine is fun, and we get to see her grow through the novel, which many times gets forgotten in horror or paranormal novels. By the end of the book, we've come to know her and admire the strength that we've seen her develop.
This is a fun book that I can recommend to pretty much any adult who'd like a something a bit different.

    I Also Recommend:

    Amazing, brilliant - HIGHLY recommended!

Katharine Geryon was born into wealth and position. Her father runs Geryon & Light, an investment company, which she will be expected to take over when he retires. Her mother ensured that Katharine knew all the proper social protocols and deportments for her station. Katharine has always done as expected, done as she has been asked, and just coasted along through life. All that is about to change with the appearance in her life of two men - Allistair and Zachary - dark and light - good and evil? Katharine is about to have her eyes opened .

"God's Eye" is an amazing book - I truly wish I could tell you more about the story itself, but it is structured so that, if I were to give you any more information, I would inevitably spoil it for you. While the set-up is perfect for a paranormal romance, that is not what this is. Not to say there is no romance, but that's not what the book is about - the book is about choices, understanding and learning to see what is around you by truly looking rather than just coasting. It is about Katharine finally growing up and learning to see the effect she truly has upon the world and to consciously choose to make things better. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading - it's well-written and brilliantly characterized. I've read all of AJ's books and they just keep getting better - I'm anxiously awaiting her next novel, "Phoenix," although there is no word as to when we can expect that one to be finished, since it appears to still be in the research stage.

"God's Eye" is AJ's third novel and is scheduled for release 10/1/11. Her previous books are "Resonance" and "Vengeance." Follow the progress of AJ's 4th book, "Phoenix," at AJ's website. Thanks to JKS Communications for the chance to preview this amazing book!
